Massimo Rocco (born June 12, 1999) is an American football runningback who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Wyoming and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Massimo was born to Marco and, Alessandra Rocco in a rough area of Yonkers, NY. He has described his upbringing as humble at best. He began playing football in the 5th grade and at first, was a Defensive Tackle, but once he joined the high school squad known as the Yonkers Force he had slimmed out quite a bit and, really developed a motor. They decided to switch him to the running back position and, Rocco took off. In his senior year, he ended up rushing for 4,000 yards, averaging 7.8 per carry, and 21 touchdowns. He set multiple records that should remain untouched for years in Yonkers. He had officially earned himself the title of a 5-star recruit, but would he head to a 5-star team, or look to be a big fish in a smaller pond?

College career

"Recruitment had started, and Rocco was setting his expectations high. However, this hope did not last long. Shortly after his senior season, a video surfaced of Rocco smoking marijuana with a few friends, seemingly at a spring break party based on eye witness reports and, the commotion in the background. Rocco did not try to hide from the allegations as he admitted guilt to the media at the first opportunity. This may have helped his case slightly, but in the long run, the damage was done. Not many top conference teams were willing to take a shot on someone in his situation. By March Rocco figured he would be spending at least a season down in JUCO. This changed quickly when he was contacted by a recruiter from the University of Wyoming. While they may not be from a top-tier conference this was the best thing Rocco could have hoped for. After a few discussions, and visits to the campus, Rocco was ready to commit to becoming a Wyoming Cowboy.

Massimo was able to take over the starting role in his sophomore year where he showed exactly why he was a 5-star recruit, putting up respectable stats such as 1521 yard rushing accompanied by 15 touchdowns. That year the Cowboys would go on to participate in and, also win the Idaho Potato bowl. His junior season would bear an even better result for him, and his team as we would end up rushing for 2001 yards, and 23 touchdowns. Enough to lead his team to the Arizona Bowl and pick up the victory in a game where he dominated the Georiga State defense carrying the ball for 194 yards and a total of 3 touchdowns. He declared himself eligible for the DSFL draft shortly after the game and began to put in work to raise his stock. "
