Luke South (born October 1, 2006) is a retired American football tight end of the National Simulation Football League (X). He played college football for Michigan State University (MSU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Luke South was born in Columbus, Ohio to two blue collar parents. Known now for his stature, South was actually a small kid growing up, and didn't see a growth spurt until his sophomore year of high school. He attributes a lot of his trademark toughness to his upbringing, saying, "I've always punched above my weight." His family moved to Detroit in 2023, and South transferred to Cass Tech. After his growth spurt, South moved to WR. He struggled to acclimate to his new build and position until his breakout year in 2025. As a senior, South reeled in 60 catches and 16 touchdowns in 10 games. Many thought he missed his recruiting window, but Mark Dantonio came knocking during playoffs. Dantonio saw a raw athlete in the 2-star WR, but his favorite attribute was South's edge blocking. "He'd just trample kids," said Dantonio.

College career

South started only 4 games as a freshman, and was able to keep his redshirt. Heading into the 2027 season, South made a change. He was still growing, and filled out his 6'5" frame with another 30 punds of muscle. South switched to TE by his own accord. "I like my hand in the dirt," he said after the 2027 season opener. Known for his quickness in the red zone, South dominated the college rank for 2 years, pulling down 70 catches and 23 touchdowns, a 1st Team All-American nomination, and the Big Ten's best TE award. South declared for the draft after the 2028 season.
