Logan Anderson . (born January 25, 2021) was an American football defensive end for the Portland Pythons of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).
Early years
Logan Anderson is the son of a prominent Canadian rugby player, Russel Anderson, and is also the youngest of 4 brothers. All three of his brothers were star rugby players in high school and eventually would get athletic schoalrships for college. Being the youngest child by a fair margin, the expectation was to follow their path. Determined to make a name for himself, and not just be known as a product of his family, Anderson chose to pursue football. He attended Lorne Park Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario where we was selected as a two-time Toronto Star All-star in his junior and senior seasons. His dominant senior season included 6FF, 14 sacks, and 6 pass breakups. However, he was only considered to be a two star recruit coming out of high school due to the lack of competition in his high school years and injuries sustained in his freshman and sophomore seasons
College career
As a true freshman at WLU, Anderson had a role as a depth and rotational piece along the defensive line. He accumulated a mild total of 6 TOT, 2 sacks and 1 FF. He saw major improvement in his sophomore campaign, accumulating 13 TOT, 5 sacks, and 2 FF through 5 games before suffering a season-ending ACL tear. The rehab process went well and Anderson came back determined as ever to achieve his goals. His junior season started off right where his sophomore ended, with 35 TOT, 11 sacks, and 4 FF through 11 games before leading the Golden Hawks to a victory over the McMaster Marauders in the Yates Cup with a final score of 24-23. Anderson greatly contributed to the victory with 6 TOT, 2 sacks, and 1 FR. Even though he had a successful recovery, his draft stock took a massive hit due to his various injuries, and went undrafted in the 2041 DSFL draft.
