Lalo Salamanca (born September 5, 1977) is an American football wide receiver for the Norfolk Seawolves of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Lalo Salamanca was born in Mexico. He had a challenging upbringing, raised by his Uncle Hector in the Juarez Cartel. Lalo did not have much time for childish things like most kids growing up in Mexico. He was quickly taken under his Uncle's wing and taught the ways of the cartel. His best friend growing up was his cousin Tuco, known for his extremely hot temper. Lalo developed some... bad habits as a result of who he grew up around. It is rumored that he and his uncle murdered a hotel manager and burned the hotel to the ground after the manager disrespected them. Lalo disputes this accusation, of course. Lalo quickly rose through the ranks of the cartel, as he earned the respect of both his peers and his Uncle Hector for being an exceptional combination of ruthless and cunning. Lalo was a natural athlete from an early age. He mostly played soccer growing up, and he showed flashes of speed and strength that quickly got the attention of some local scouts. The scouts visited him at his home one day, seeking to offer him a contract to play for an amateur team in the area. Lalo considered leaving the cartel briefly to pursue this opportunity. When Hector found out he was furious. Rumor has it that the scouts were never seen or heard from again. When questioned by the police, Hector denied ever having spoken to them.

College career

Lalo attended the University of New Mexico to pursue a business degree to help him run the family business back in Mexico. Lalo had not even thought of playing football, until he saw a poster advertising a walk-on tryout for the team. On a whim, Lalo signed up and showed up having done exactly zero training. Lalo quickly caught the eye of the coaching staff, as a very raw prospect they could develop. Lalo was torn on whether to play or not. He knew he would have to keep it a secret from his uncle, as he was very against him wasting time doing anything other than developing his business acumen.Lalo ultimately decided to go ahead and play. He would go on to have a very successful college career as a receiver. His freshman year he did not play too much as he learned the game, but from his sophomore season and on he would have a starting role and be featured in the UNM offense as a stud wideout.
