Joshua Campbell (born August 7, 2018) was an American football wide receiver for the Kansas City Coyotes of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Joshua Campbell was born and raised in the small town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming where the only high school is a small 2A school which didn't bring much attention to himself. Campbell finally got the go ahead to play and start Varsity ball in his Junior year where he was a solid starter as a WR2/RB2. In his senior year Joshua was one of the most dominant people in all of Wyoming Football to the point there he was the only 2-A player named to the All-Wyoming Team. Due to only being a 2-A Player Campbell wasn't receiving much attention from FBS Schools and the night before he was planning to commit to Idaho State, Campbell recieved an offer from newly hired Wyoming Cowboys Head Coach "Brayden Ennis" to come play at his school. Campbell commited to the University of Wyoming as a 1 Star WR to play as a special teams key player.

College career

When Campbell committed to Wyoming only as a 1-Star recruit to the Dominant PAC-14 School he wasn't expected almost any playing time, But when off the field issues brought Star WR Eddie Jackson off the team in his redshirt Sophomore season, Campbell saw great success on the field. After starting in the last 5 games of the year (Including Bowls and Conference Championship Games) Campbell had over 550 Yards and 5 TDs. When it came time for his Junior season Joshua was already WR1 and destroyed previous records from the school and won the Bilitnekoff award and was a first team All-American even on Wyomings down 10-3 year. For his senior year Joshua Campbell was slightly less productive but still enought to gain a Bilitnekoff nomination and 1st Team All PAC-14, along with 2nd Team All-American. Wyoming would finish that year winning the Natty against Georgia Tech, 35:22. Shortly after the natty Campbell had recieved clearence from the NCAA to be called up to the pros a year early and immediatly saw a Trade Deadline offer from the then 4-6 Kansas City Coyotes.

Professional career

DSFL career

Joshua Campbell was the first offensive player picked in the Season 23 DSFL draft going 15th overall to the original team he practiced with, the Kansas City Coyotes. In such a offensive heavy class it was an honor to go so high to a team that was already stacked on the offensive side. On a team that was already so stacked with WRs he was already starting as the WR2 of the team. Right being Taylor Cooper. Campbell would have reasonable stats for being such a run heavy team and sharing snaps with 3 other guys all year with nearly 600 yards in the regular season but sadly never made it to the end zone. The Kansas City Coyotes would finish the year 7-7 after a 4 game losing streak and would lose in the ultmini to the Norfolk Seawolves. Joshua Campbell stated before the draft that he would play at least another year in the DSFL to get better. Joshua would go game to game with varying stats. Some games only having 1 reception for around 20 yards and other games having 6 receptions for around 100 yards. It all depended on the type of game Semi Star QB Ronald Convington the Third was having. Campbell also was the main Kick and Punt returner in the last quarter of the season including playoffs! When asked about his season stats Campbell declared he could’ve done much better but hopes too improve a lot by next season and lock up the WR1 spot along with kick and punt returns. During the season 24 season Joshua Campbell won the starting wide receiver Job for the Kansas City Coyotes with the former Starting receiver getting benched halfway through the season. If the dsfl had a breakout player of the year then Joshua would've been in top contention for it as while the coyotes missed the playoffs with a 6-8 record, Campbell was a candidate for wide receiver of the year with nearly 1000 yards, and 7 touchdowns while also holding the leagues highest yards per catch average with a 15 ypc. After being expected to be the future feature wide out for the San Jose Sabercats, Joshua Campbell was unexpectedly traded to Maryland to play for the Baltimore Hawks with former Coyote Chika Fujiwara. Joshua Campbell had some breakout games including getting nearly 150 receiving yards while also returning a punt over 80 to the house to tie the game and send it to overtime where they eventually won the game. In a disappointing fashion the coyotes missed the playoffs after winning a clutch rivalry game in Portland just to lose a game where they were heavily favored in to officially be eliminated from the playoffs. To make matters once news came out that Baltimore wide receivers Asher Quinn and Nick Kaepercolin were both leaving to play for the new Berlin expansion team so Joshua had to announce to the rest of his locker room that he would no longer be playing for the Coyotess and was getting called up to the Baltimore Hawks
