Jim Waters (born September 10, 2006) was an American football quarterback. He played college football for San Jose State (SJS).

Early years

Jim Waters was born in San Jose, California. From the moment he turned 5 and saw a football for the first time, he knew that he wanted to go pro. He had natural arm, and had an eye for the game, so his coach put him in as quarterback in his first ever game. From that moment on, he never looked back. In his little league, it was clear that he was a level above everyone in his league. When in 8th grade, he had varsity scouts come to his games to watch him play. The moment he signed up at Evegreen Valley, he was admitted to the school's failing football program where they hoped that he would be able to make a difference and turn their season around. Freshman year, he had the help of the star senior reciever, and was able to throw 4000 yards. From that moment on, there was no doubt in his mind that he would be a Round 1 pick in the NSFL.

College career

Jim got lots of different pitches from many colleges but ultimately decided to stay in his hometown and play for San Jose State, a college not too famous for football. But he was ready to change that, and get them to win Div 1 football. In the first season, he arrived on campus with the intent to win. He got in touch with his receivers and made sure they got extra practices every single day. But in the end, it paid off. He threw 86.9% and only threw 3 interceptions, while also rushing for 112 yards. At this point, he realized that he had the speed to be a mobile QB. The second season, it was impossible to get better, and with their star receiver leaving the season before, his throwing numbers dropped to 73% throwing, but his rushing numbers went up to 250 rushing yards. The defenses did not know what to expect with him, which really helped the San Jose State offense thrive. But alas, the San Jose defense was not good enough, and they were not able to win any major trophies. At that point, Jim decided to enter the NSFL Draft, because he believed in his ability and knew he would be a top-two round pick. Even with 13 quarterbacks in the upcoming draft, he knew that he could distance himself from the rest. Somehow he fell all the way to 180th pick in the DSFL Draft to Tijuana Luchadores, after concerns on his commitment.

DSFL career

After being drafted with the 180th pick of the Developmental Simulation Football League Draft, Waters' hopes were low. He would be playing backup for his first season, and he knew playing backup would only lower his stock. He stayed a good teammate and helped out the starting quarterback during practice. He was rewarded for his work during practice and got some game snaps. Jim Waters played two formations for the Luchadores, based on league rules. Luckily, Tijuana had lots of their plays focused around passing, so Waters got 213 snaps. Even though his first season, did not go that well with a 55.4 QBR, he knew that he could earn a starting spot the next season. A positive of the season was that fans were able to see his legs in action, as he averaged 9 Rushing Yards per attempt, through his four attempts. Known as a rushing quarterback before, fans were happy to see he did not lose any speed, and actually just got faster. Tijuana started off the season well, but at the end were not able to finish it off. Tijuana was not able to make the playoffs, getting third place, after an unlucky decision day. After the season was over, there were rumors about a potential trade for him, to get a starting spot on another team. But at this point, he does not know whether an NSFL Team will take a chance on him and if he will ever get a starting spot in the DSFL.
