Jammerson " J.I. " Irving (born January 10, 2003) is an American football tight end for the NONE of the National Simulation Football League (X). He played college football for University at Buffalo and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Jammerson Irving was born in Black River, Jamaica. Son of a former Jamaican National Team sprinter, he immigrated to Guelph, Ontario when his father accepted a coaching job at Guelph University. While Jammerson was a sprinter from a young age, his prodigious size and strength proved unstoppable in high school football. Barely recruited out of Canada, Irving opted to stay close to home and made the University at Buffalo football team as an walk on his freshman year.

College career

Freshman Year:

Irving was an extremely raw football athlete, having played the sport for only 2 years, but his advanced size, strength and speed forced the coaching staff for forgo a redshirt season and find ways to put his natural athleticism on the field. While playing mostly special teams, Irving played sparingly at multiple back-up positions. In 8 games played he recorded 17 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 1 sack on defense, and 15 receptions for 216 yards and two touchdowns on offense. He was named game MVP in Buffalo's game versus Toledo, where he recorded a special teams forced fumble, his first career touchdown, and his only career sack. During the off-season, Irving was arrested on marijuana possession charges which were ultimately dismissed.

Sophomore Year:

Irving was moved to the tight end position full time during spring practices. He was suspended by the school for the first game of the season for his off-season transgression, but constant production on field led him to be named starter for Buffalo's fourth game. Highlighting the year and talent Irving possessed, he accumulated 10 receptions for 139 yards and 3 touchdowns playing a nationally televised game. It proved to be the last game of his UB career, and in 8 games he totaled 55 receptions, 642 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Controversy:

In the week before the Buffalo's MAC championship game, Irving was arrested for stealing chicken wings with a laptop computer days after becoming infamous for using coarse language during a pep rally, in which he also appeared to be super, super baked while wearing a gas mask. An ill-advised social media post, while positing legitimate complaints to the often hypocrtitcal puritan drug laws of the United States was undone by some really, really sophomoric language whilst doing crunches in the dorm hallway. It wasn't a good look. The incident trended nationally and UB was forced to dismiss Irving.

Irving, against the wishes of coaches and scouts, decided to declare for the draft early - hoping his raw physical talents would trump any off-field issues and make him a DSFL draft pick.

Professional career

DSFL Season 14

Jammerson Irving was drafted 24th overall, with the final pick of the fourth round in the DSFL Season 14 entry draft by the Tijuana Luchadores. He compiled 62 receptions for 574 yards, those totals placing him 6th and 8th overall respectively in each category. Irving showed well among his DSFL tight end cohorts, finishing second in yards and third in receptions, but only scored a single touch down and struggled with drops and penalties. However, he proved an integral part of a Tijuana passing attack that finished the season first overall in total yards and advanced to the Ultimini Championship, knocking off a dominant San Antonio Marshals team in the semi-final. In the Ultimini versus the Portland Pythons, Irving struggled mightily recording only 2 catches for 21 yards while dropping three passes in the loss.
