Jameson Vermillion (born May 29, 2018) is an American football runningback who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Navy and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Jameson was born in southern Illinois in the small former coal town of Centralia. A sign that reads " Centralia, your opportunity" haunted him and every other resident his entire life, Centralia better known as "Ew, why would you go there" is a mostly horrible place, known for drugs and well.. drugs, they also have one of the top 100 biggest carillons in the world, so look that word up carillon, you've learned something today . With not much to do he played football and trained in Brazilian jiu-jiutsu, he would go on to even participate in mixed martial arts events a few times over the summer before he left for college. He played little flag, little league, everything that was available to him all the way up through high school. His high school went completely un-undefeated not managing to win a single game as is Centralia tradition, despite Jameson setting multiple school and state records on the ground. When asked why that was after his senior year he simply responded, "they don't think it be like it is, but it do."

College career

He had considered enlisting after high school in the Navy but after scoring a 97 on the ASVAB and talking to the recruiter about football and how he played the recruiter pulled some strings and he met with a representative of the Navy football team. After much string pulling Jameson was off to college at Navy a place he clearly didn't belong. It was nothing but problems for him when he wasn't off the field. Constantly getting into trouble for not shaving or getting his hair cut, he was a star early though and with some magic and luck stayed at Navy for two and a half seasons before all parties agreed it would be best to part ways. He spent the rest of his Junior year preparing to make the leap to the next level as he had already had scouts getting in touch with him after his impressive performances at Navy.

DSFL Career

James Vermillion was drafted tenth overall by the Minnesota Grey Ducks. While feeling snubbed that he didn't go in the first round, a feeling that would follow him into the ISFL, he ended up enjoying the team he was drafted to. His rookie season would start off with a bang getting over a hundred yards in the season opener, while also scoring two touchdowns, half of the touchdowns he would score in the year. While having good and bad games spread pretty evenly throughout the season, he would end up being the star of an otherwise bland and mediocre Minnesota offense. Jameson would put in time in multiple aspects of the game, serving as half of the one two punch that made Minnesota one of the best rushing attacks of the season, while also serving as a kick returner splitting returns with teammate Noah Akerele, and after week two taking over as the primary punt returner. Through the end of the season he was nominated for multiple awards, offensive rookie of the year, running back of the year and performance of the year. The performance of the year was a week six game against Kansas City with his long rush of eighty nine yards, he would ultimately end that game with one hundred sixty three yards on sixteen carries with a touchdown, while he was nominated for all these awards he would ultimately not receive any of them. At the end of the season he did however make the dsfl probowl, alongside team mate Mike Rotchburns.
