Jack McPherson (born July 21, 2025) is an American football linebacker for the Norfolk Seawolves of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Born into the small town of Fairdale Kentucky as the youngest of 3 bothers and one sister to a family that owns a local chicken restaurant in the area, Jack McPherson has always been a really big person. His father Paul was known for his secret recipe for both fried and grilled chicken, and his mother Becky handled the money for the family. Jack was a bit of a surprise to both of them, but they both loved him dearly. His own mother described him as the biggest infant she had ever given birth to in terms of weight at birth, and he was always bullied for his weight from a young age. It was all fat too, until one day he decided to try to turn all that weight into muscles by getting into bodybuilding, and by his sophomore year he was still rather large but now mostly in muscles.

During his freshman year, he would end up playing kicker for the Fairdale Bulldogs football team as a way to get more workouts. He would only miss 5 kicks during his entire high school football career. He would then also become a linebacker due to his increasing size, and would stop really growing around the 280 pound range. He would be a big part of the team going to the state championship two times in a row and winning both times with him getting a game and title winning sack and fumble recovery in his final game. He would be scouted for both of his positions by a lot of different teams and spent a lot of time debating between places like Wisconsin and Nebraska before steeling on the Florida Gators in order to have a chance to be both a kicker and a linebacker. "

College career

When he first went to the University of Florida to play college ball, Jack was as nervous as can be. He had went from being the talk of the town and one of the best football players in his state to being a new player around guys who probably went through similar hype and praise that he did. As a result, he would underachieve when he was playing linebacker in his first season, and would only be an average kicker. He would get a lot of advice from his coach Adam Lynn there who was one of his biggest supporters and was able to see a lot of potential in him. He would start breaking out in his sophomore year with double digit sacks and only missing one kick and an extra point all season. In his junior year he would be a finalist for the Butkus Award and would just miss out on it because of a shaky performance in the final game. He would actually win the Lou Groza Award that year because he did not miss a single kick or extra point all season.

He decided to come back for his final season in Florida and would have his absolute best college season in terms of being a linebacker, with 15 sacks and 5 forced fumbles. He was so dominant that he would actually get the Butkus Award this time, and would actually run away with the award in the voting. His final tackle as a Florida Gator would be a sack of the Penn State quarterback that would help them win the game but not would not be the final major play. Afterwards Jack would graduate from Florida with a degree in criminal justice and prepared himself for the next level with the DSFL. "
