Inspectah Deck (born April 16, 1996) is an American football linebacker for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Univerisity of Wisconsin (UW) before being drafted by the Tijuana Luchadores in the 2034 DSFL Draft (S19).

Early years

Inspecta Deck was born in a small town located in southwestern Wisconsin, in which the only notable buildings were the cheese factory and the bar. Growing up Deck spent his summers growing corn, bailing hay, and biking around with the other kids his age. As Deck got into high school, he began playing football, linebacker on defense and fullback on offence. Deck often remembers his coach saying, “you’ve got hands like feet, but I’ll be damned if you don’t live for hitting people”. Deck loved football, but also spent his high school years wrestling and running track. While enjoying sports, work on the farm was always the priority. While he learned all about hard work and diligence, Inspecta Deck knew that if he was as focused on sports as he was on the farm, then there was nothing that he couldn’t achieve. As Deck’s junior year of high school came to a close, he knew that he had to make some major choices about what he was going to do with his life. As he was weighing his options, there was one choice that he always seemed to come back to, doing whatever it took to play for his home state’s team, the Wisconsin Badgers. Deck knew he could make his dream come true because Alex Erickson was playing for the Bengals in the NFL and was from the next town over. If Alex could make it to the big show, then any small town farm boy has just as good a shot if they worked hard and did whatever it took.

College career

In July 2015, Deck was invited to the WFCA Large School All-Star Game. Hoping to get a last minute offer from a Division 1 school Deck agreed to play and let his play speak for itself. Deck played up to his normal quality of play, for the game he played full back and outside linebacker. During the game he recorded 9 tackles, two pass-breakups and an interception. As luck would have it this caught the eye of Dave Aranda, who was in attendance to watch his nephew play. When he learned that Deck was looking to walk on to other programs Aranda got in contact with new coach Paul Chryst to discuss Deck. In the end Deck was offered a preferred walk on position in the program! As part of Chryst’s first class of recruits Deck was ecstatic that he had earned an opportunity to play for the team and to prove that a small town kid could play as well as any recruit in the country. Jim Leonhard, Mark Tauscher, J.J. Watt all of these great players not only played for the Wisconsin Badgers, but walked on with no scholarship. Hoping to join such a distinguished group Inspecta Deck worked on keeping a spot on the team. Even though Deck ended up not playing at all his freshman year, he was content just learning all he could from such a great defensive coordinator. Deck remembered that he was there to play football, not play school, and knew that he would have to out work those who had scholarships in order to see any playing time. During his sophomore year Inspecta Deck earned reps with the second string players, taking the next step towards playing in real games. At the start of his Junior year the unthinkable happened Garret Dooley went down with a season ending injury. Wisconsin’s philosophy of next man up served Deck well, and he stepped into significant playing time for the badgers, on their way to a 13–1 record, and an orange bowl victory. Going into his senior year Inspecta Deck was anxious and put a lot of pressure on himself, since this year was the culmination of a lifetime of hard, dedicated work. The season ended up being an incredibly bitter pill, with a 8-5 record and a pinstripe bowl victory. The Wisconsin badgers were pushed around all season by teams that played much more physically than the oft injured badgers could.

DSFL Career

DSFL Draft

Deck entered the 2034 DSFL Draft (S19) as a relative unknown. Having close ties to the user Jay_Doctor Deck was enough to convince the Tijuana Luchadores to take a chance on him, drafting Deck at the start of the 4th round with the 13th overall pick. Deck earned the week 1 game ball, which he lost due to the infamous 2 week resim snafu. The first 2 weeks of the season ended up being replayed, which saw Deck losing 2 sacks and not receiving another game ball for the season. Deck remained active and enjoyed a solid season, Tijuana finished the season with a league-best record of 11-3. Controlling home field advantage, Tijuana won a hard fought game over new division opponent Myrtle Beach. The Buccaneers made some big plays defensively, but it wasn't enough and Tijuana rolled on to the championship. It what can only be described as the most bizarre game of the year, Tijuana fell to the Grey Ducks 16-13 to lose the Ultimini. The team's maxed out kicker, who had been automatic all season missed 2 moderately close field goals and an extra point. The team's maxed out running back only got a few touches all game and didn't pick up much for yardage. Deck really disappeared during the game with only 4 tackles, 0 TFF, finishing the season just shy of 100 tackles with 95, making him 8th overall in tackles.

In the NSFL draft Deck was projected to be a mid to late 2nd round pick. Before the draft, Jay's Draft Board stated the following about Deck "He isn’t a max earner, but a lot of teams value a player that is a great locker room presence and will consistently grow just as much. He also knows how to make smart bets, as he claimed $1 million from Mason Blaylock by finishing with more tackles and sacks in the regular season." In a surprise move San Jose Sabercats drafted Deck with the second pick of the second round, and the 12th overall pick. Opting to keep Deck in the DSFL for an additional season, San Jose is expecting big things from Deck in the near future.
