In the history of the Ultimus there has only been 1 blowout victory, which was in the 2030 (S15) final between the Epictitus Milburn and Icy Douglas GMed Baltimore Hawks and the San Jose Saberscats in a 49-0 win for the Hawks.

Football Front Office career

Tijuana Luchadores

In 2023 (S8), Icy was hired as the co-GM to Epictitus Milburn, who had been hired as GM in 2022 (S7). At the time, Tijuana was an organization riddled with first round playoff loses and losing seasons. Icy and Epictitus came in as truly fresh faces, only having 1 year of front office work between them. However, the two got started quickly with a heavy focus on team strategy and player endurance. The duo would lead the team to it's first championship in their very first season on the job, earning GM of Year awards with it. The next two seasons would also prove successful, winning two more championships and two more GM of the Year awards. They became the first DSFL team to win three championships in a row. In 2026 (S11), the duo almost made history again with a 4th Championship win, but the team would fall to the rival Portland Pythons in the Ultimini Championship with a score of 6 to 13. The following season, the duo would fail to reach the Ultimini for the first time in their career. After 2027 (S12) to duo would resign from the Tijuana front office and split ways.

The duo's success in the high-turnover DSFL has been accredited to solid drafting, locker room culture, tailored game strategies, and keeping the same QB: Adriana Falconi.

San Jose Sabercats

In 2028 (S13), Icy became the Head Coach and primary play caller of the San Jose Sabercats. While Icy initially planned on focusing on his newly founded baseball career after stepping down from Tijuana's front office, his itch for football was too great. Icy was a part-time strategic consultant for the team's front office in 2027 (S12), making the move to Head Coach an easy one. Douglas helped lead the Sabercats to their best regular season record in franchise history, winning the division with 12 wins and 2 losses. Sadly, the high performance run would end early in the playoffs, with an unexpected loss to the Orange County Otters in the first round.

Baltimore Hawks

In 2029 (S14), Icy reunited with Epictitus Milburn to GM the Baltimore Hawks, looking to repeat their DSFL success in the big leagues. The reunited duo would start their NSFL careers out with a huge trade, acquiring 6 players in one transaction. The move was considered risky due to the number of draft picks given up, as the Hawks traded away 4 picks including 2 first rounders. While the Hawks were the favorites to win it all going into the playoffs, they would lose in the NSFC championship. In 2030 (S15), Baltimore would win the Ultimus Championship with a stacked team built on the gutsy trade the season prior. In the history of the Ultimus there has only been 1 blowout victory, which was this 2030 (S15) final between the Baltimore Hawks and the San Jose Saberscats, where the Hawks won 49-0. The following 2 seasons, the team would make several major trade acquisitions and make one more Ultimus appearance, losing to the Orange County Otters 17 to 28. After the 2032 (S17) season, Icy and Epictitus would permanently retire from GMing.

Major Acquisitions

Icy was a part of several major acquisitions during his front office career.

  • The Pennington Trade - The San Jose Sabercats gave away 3 picks and 3 players, including 2 first round picks, to Yellowknife for the Pennington Brothers, creating one of the best NSFL defenses in history.
  • The Colorado Six Trade - Colorado received Baltimore’s S15 R1, R7, R8 picks and S16 R1 pick for 6 players: Howard Miller, Haruki Ishigawa, Brian Mills, Axel Hornbacher, Viggo Squanch, and Lucari Felix.
  • The Ennis Trade - Baltimore traded 1st round rookie DT Ennis and a 2nd rounder to New Orleans for DT Benson Harris only 2 picks after picking Ennis.
  • The Sunnycurse Trade - Right before the 2032 (S17) trade deadline, Baltimore would give away 3 picks and 2 players for all-stars Sunnycurse from Orange County and Jones from Philadelphia.

Icy traded away a total of 5 first round picks in his career.

Professional Baseball Career

In 2028, after Icy stepped down from Tijuana's front office, he tried his hand at baseball. He had played college baseball at University of Colorado, but never pursued it professionally. He was drafted pick 6 of round 2 in the PBE Draft by the new expansion team, the Utah Railroaders.

Milwaukee Swans/Kingston Mounties

Icy was sent down to the minors after being drafted, where he was picked up by the Milwaukee Swans in the 5th round of the MiLPBE draft. In Icy's first season of baseball, he played all 100 games of the season at Left Field, where he won an MiLPBE Great Glove Award. On offense he hit 15 home runs and had 62 runners batted in. His power hitting and excellent fielding got him enough votes to make the MilPBE All Star Team that year.

In 2029, the Milwaukee Swans moved to Kingston, Ontario to become the Kingston Mounties. Icy stayed with the team. Icy again played all 100 games of the season and again made the MilPBE All Star Team. He hit 12 home runs and had 47 runners batted in.

Utah Railroaders

Icy was brought up the majors in 2030, however only appeared in 15 games. In those 15 games he was moved around the field, making appearances at Left Field, Right Field, Short Stop, and First Base. He had 23 at bats with only 1 home run and 1 run batted in.

After 2030, Icy was released to become a free agent.
