Hingle McCringleberry (born April 24, 2013) is an American football linebacker for the Dallas Birddogs of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Hingle McCringleberry was born in Belle Glade, Florida, to Donna and Shaquille McCringleberry. Hingle is the oldest of three boys in the McCringleberry household, all very close in age, so that helped not only Hingle, but all his siblings remain competitive. The McCringleberry did not originally live in Tampa, Florida, but more in the center of the state and south. Hingle grew up chasing rabbits in the fields and swamp areas, which helped with his with his speed and agility. Since McCringleberry showed a real love and passion for football, the family moved to Tampa, because there he would be able to pursue his dream of playing football and go to school better suited for sports.

Hingle joined Silver Creek High School as a Sophomore and had always dominated the Pop Warner leagues back in his hometown, but this new area and schools were a lot different. Also coming in as a Sophomore, Hingle felt behind but that only fueled the fire more to succeed! Hingle went on to dominate in his Junior and Senior years of high school, which he helped lead them to back to back State Championships. Hingle got a bunch of school that scouted him and wanted him to join but he decided that Penn State University was where he wanted to play college football, and his best friend also committed there.

College career

Accepted to Penn State University on a full ride, Hingle knew that he would have to fill in some big shoes knowing the leader of the defense for the past three years had just been drafted 6th overall! Not only did Hingle have to worry about that, he knew going into a big university, he was not the only one that they scouted for the linebacker and would have some heavy competition for the starting role. As a freshman Hingle rarely started but was rotated in frequently with two other linebackers, one that was also a freshman and another a sophomore. When Hingle was on the field he showed signs of dominance, but only towards the end of the year. The beginning of the season Hingle struggled to find his footing like he always had and adjust to the pace of the game with some of the nations best. The biggest highlight of his freshman year was in a game verse Ohio State, where Hingle burst off the edge on a blitz, stripped the quarterback and took it to the house to send to overtime, Ohio State won 38-32.

McCringleberry had a solid sophomore season by beating out the competition, which rigorous offseason training helped Hingle get the starting role for every game. Junior year is where McCringleberry became a monster and tore up the NCAA. Hingle had 81 total tackles, 10 for a loss of yards, 2 interceptions, and 3 forced fumbles. He started to make a name for himself and Penn States defense was running on all cylinders. Penn State got to a bowl game that year against Georgia and proceeded to beat them through stellar defensive play. Senior year was an even bigger year for Hingle McCringleberry, which he doubled up on his tackles for 164 and 76 of them were solo. He had 4 interceptions which two of them were returned for touchdowns. Lead the team in sacks with 8 and had 3 forced fumbles again. McCringleberry would get DPOTY and receive Big Ten Conference First Team Honors. Penn State won the conference and almost made it to the big dance this year, falling short in the losing in the semi finals to LSU 24-20. McCringleberry will attend the combine.

DSFL Career

Myrtle Beach Buccaneers

McCringleberry entered the DSFL after the trade deadline of the 2036 (S21) season. He was placed on waivers and then temporarily picked up and signed by the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. They added Hingle for depth, warm up the benches and fetch the water. He unfortunately did not play a game for the Buccaneers, but he was a pro at keeping the benches warm and the team hydrated. When he joined Myrtle Beach was cruising their way into the playoffs, and Hingle got to watch as the team went to the finals and ended up winning the Ultimini. This meant that McCringleberry would be sent back into the draft pool, but with a newly won trophy!

Dallas Birddogs

Hingle McCringleberry was selected tenth overall by the Dallas Birddogs in the 2037 (S22) season. McCringleberry was coming into a stacked Dallas team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. He came in has a pure linebacker but was asked to fill in an edge rushing role, which he would gladly accept. He would get to line up next to Dallas’ first pick, second overall, Tyler Montain and other 2037 draftee, Yuuto Kira Cloudera. McCringleberry started hot right out the gate in game one, racking up 7 tackles, which 4 were for a loss, a sack, and a forced fumble that was recovered by Hingle as well. McCringleberry would end the season with 54 tackles, 17 for a loss, 2 forced fumbles and the lone one recovery, 5 sacks and a crazy 16 pass deflects (pass defended). There was a few rough games for Hingle and the Birddogs, which would see them to finish at .500, with a record of 7-7 and tied for last in the SFC with the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers.

In preparation for the NSFL draft, McCringleberry participated in the NSFL Scouting Combine.

NSFL Career

Chicago Butchers

McCringleberry was selected thirteen overall by the Chicago Butchers in the Season 23 NSFL Draft.

Season 23

Season 23 was a big year for Hingle McCringleberry. Prior to the season 23 draft, McCringleberry was talked about going anywhere in the first round. He was labeled as “First Round Talent”, and mock drafts from the media and the regular populous had him going anywhere from 3rd overall to the last pick of the first round, 12th overall. Hingle was scouted by just about every team, saying they would love for him to play for them and none of them seemed ahead of the other for Hingle so he had no idea where he was potentially going in the draft. McCringleberry ended up watching day 1 of the draft go by and no phone call, he received a phone call on day 2 being the first pick in round 2 getting drafted by the Chicago Butchers.

McCringleberry start off the season 23 being told that the previous Linebacker is switching positions so that he could play that role. Hingle joined a veteran linebacker to join a young defense, that is looking to make a name in the future as a defense to fear. Being on a team that is up in the rise and still at the bottom of the league, Hingle and the young guys on the Butcher’s defense will be on the field a lot more. Hingle finished his rookie campaign with 117 tackles, might have not been in top 10 in the league but top 5 among the rookies! Having 8 sacks on the season was big for Chicago this year and put Hingle in the top 2 for rookies. He also had a whopping 13 pass deflects (defends), which is a lot for a Linebacker and put him in top 3 with fellow teammate and rookie Tyron Shields. The Butchers fell way short of moving on and having a shot at the championship but showed they are a team that is looking good for the future and one to fear!
