Gus Bus (born May 5, 2045) is an American football runningback for the London Royals of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Born in Detroit Michigan, Gus grew up playing smashmouth backyard football. This translated well in high school where his immense size allowed him bulldoze defenders with ease. His father was the head coach during his high school years and together they went to three state championships, only winning one. However their relationship became strained when Gus' father benched him in a state championship game due to a minor injury that Gus swore he could play through. The team lost and Gus blamed himself for not finishing the game. It wouldn't be for another year or so when they would reconcile and Gus realized that he was in the wrong for the outburst. This renewed ferver helped the team win their first State Championship after losing two in a row. Gus would lead the state in rushing yards each season of high school, though scouts in college were concerned for his size if he would be able to maintain a high level of speed in later years. Their concerns turned out to be justified.

College career

After a handfull of offers from a few top schools, Gus decided on Notre Dame. His status as a True Workhorse back was questioned though. He got plenty of reps as a true freshman, being one of the highest rated power backs in the nation coing out of high school. But the concerns of his speed were well placed. He worked hard at the gym increasing his strength drastically, however his speed took a major hit. This led his coaches to switch him to fullback where his size and strength could be utilized better with less requirement for speed. He took the change well, realizing he just couldn't keep up with the smaller backs. He did become a staple of the goal line though, scoring on 93% of goal line runs and leading the nation in broken tackles, all from hit stick type power throughs. Finishing his freshman year with 84 carries, 19 touchdowns and 345 yards for 3.4 yards per carry. He wasn't called on to run much in space but once they were at the goal line it was almost a guaranteed TD regardless how the box was stacked. He also tacked on 115 pancakes throughout the season. Every year following was pretty similar, though his game expanded a bit to be able to catch some passes as well as a reliable check down target. His status as a powerhouse workhorse was well known and he made opponents fear tackling him above the waist. By the time he was a senior he was ready for the pros. He Graduated from Notre Dame with honors and took a few months to prepare before declaring for the DSFL Draft of S33. Being a bit late to S32 he was able to go to the London Royals after the trade deadline to get some reps on a team before the draft the following season.
