Giannis "Air Crou" Kroustis (born May 11, 2004) is an American football safety who is currently unsigned by a professional team.

Early years

Kroustis was born in San Francisco to Greek immigrants. From a very young age, he was shining among kids of his age in any sport discipline. His greatest love was football, however. He aspired to become a great quarterback, but a shattered throwing shoulder, caused by a car accident, when he was 10, halted his dream. Only for a while though. He attended Palo Alto High School, in the SF Bay Area. His coaches saw his IQ and convinced him to play a defensive position instead. He played as a CB at first, but the safety position was where he truly showed what he was. He could read offensive schemes like open books, and combined with his athleticism and leadership skills, he helped lead Palo Alto to 3 straight State Titles, finishing all 3 seasons with 30+ tackles, 10+ interceptions, and 5+ TDs. He was highly recruited by every top college in the U.S, committing to play for the Clemson Tigers.

College career

He played for the Clemson Tigers under coach Dabo Sweeney for a full 4 years. His true freshman season, in 2025, was plagued by injuries, allowing him to only play 5 games, before injuring his left knee, tearing his ACL in the last regular season game against the Miami Hurricanes. Those 5 games, however, were a glimpse of the amazing safety people had seen in Palo Alto. Kroustis had 10 tackles, 4 deflections and 3 interceptions in those games. Doctors advised him to redshirt the next year to rehab his ACL injury, since they projected him to be fit by mid-November. He surprised everyone. Kroustis was match fit by mid-October and helped a, although 6-1, yet struggling team, finish the season on a winning stream, hoisting the National Championship against Alabama, with him getting defensive MVP honors, finishing the game with 4 "pick-6" and another 6 tackles, reigning terror over Nick Saban's offence. His next two seasons were unstable, playing only 8 games in 2027 and 7 games in 2028. He was a force to be reckoned with and helped Clemson win another 2 National titles, but his draft stock dropped low because of recurring injury problems, including issues in his left knee.

College career statistics

Kroustis alternated between the FS and SS positions, occasionally filling in as a Nickel or a Dime, with great success.
