Felix Hasselhoff (born October 21, 2001) is an American football Wide Receiver for the Portland Pythons of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He did not play college football but was recruited out of a Germany Developmental League before entering the professional ranks in 2023

Early years

Hasselhoff was born in Leipzig, Germany. Born to a single mother, Emilia, Hasselhoff spent much of his early life finding trouble. Unlike many young German boys, Felix was found drawn to Football, but not type you would expect. Felix would spend days upon days watching highlights on Youtube of the great receivers throughout the years. He is said to have idolized the play of Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Rod Smith.

Felix began his journey in American Football at the age of 12, when he went to his first live game, and from that moment he was hooked. Returning often to watch the Dresden Monarchs, Felix sought out any avenue he could to play like the greats. Unable to find programs that offered kids his age a chance to play American Football, Felix instead began playing Rugby with a local program. Combined with his occasional play on the soccer field, Felix began filling out and was soon ready to take his next step.

College career

Unlike most players in the DSFL and NSFL, Felix took a different route. He was a walk-on to a practice for the Berlin Rebels of the German Football League. Nearly immediately he was snatched up to play Wide Receiver for the team. The move to sign Hasselhoff paid off in spades for the Rebels, as they went on to win the next championship, with Felix leading the way with impressive stats. Felix played for two seasons with the Berlin Rebels before he was approached by the possibility of moving to the DSFL and carving out a role for himself in the developmental league for the growing NSFL.

Inspired to be a success story for other European players, Felix decided the best choice would to declare early for the 2024 DSFL draft and spend the remainder of the 2023 season. Eventually claimed on waivers by the Portland Pythons, Felix played in their remaining four games of the season and their eventual playoff exit. Felix made his DSFL debut in Week 11 of the 2023 season against the Palm Beach Solar Bears - winning the contest 13-0.

Upon rumors that Felix was not interested in continue pursuing his football career with the vigor he originally intended. The German Wide Receiver fell to the first pick of the 7th Round of the 2024 DSFL Draft (S9). When asked about his draft position in an interview after the draft, Felix had the following to say. "I am going to make teams that passed on me regret their choice. I feel a bit snubbed. I am the best receiver in this draft, and possibily the best player, and you're going to see me work my tail off to show them and everyone in the NSFL that Felix Hasselhoff is the real deal."
