Early years Elliot Hord was born in Astoria, OR. Both parents were retired military members, and he was raised with strict values of Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty. Elliot attended and played football for Astoria High School. Playing for the Astoria Fishermen football team. He contributed to the teams first National Championship in 2003. Not only did he excel in football, but he also starred in the High Schools basketball team and surprisingly bowling team. These accolades and Honors he received with his 4.0 grade average, earned him the coveted 5 Blue Chip prospect rating, that all of the nations colleges were anxious to recruit. As he was offered many opportunities with different colleges, he made his final decision and took his talents to the University of Washington, as he respected their Bio-Chemistry program due to his desire to become a scientist and conduct cancer research. College career As a freshman at UW, he didn't get a starting role at the beginning of the season. But halfway through the season, the head coach noticed the tenacity and intelligence Elliot brought to the practice field and he gave the young freshman a start. From that moment Elliot stayed on the field for 100% of the defensive plays. He had a good year for a Freshman, being 3rd in tackles and surprisingly 2nd in pass deflections. Elliot took a huge step his sophmore year and led the team in tackles and interceptions. His perception was like a Hawk's, as he jumped into every passing lane around him and either deflecting the pass or grabing the ball out of mid air. His junior year he raised his game even more, being named the LB of the year. He struggled with the decision to stay and finish his college career, as pro teams were knocking on his door begging to join their team. Ultimately he made the tough decision to stay at school and earn the degree he had been working for over the past 3 years, "My parents didn't raise a quitter" he said when he made his final decision to stay at UW. His senior year at UW he elevated his game to the highest level. He led the nation in tackles, and was 3rd in interceptions. Elliot and his defense led the Huskies to the National Championship, and on the final play of the game, Elliot intercepted the winning TD pass in the endzone against Alabama, coming away with the major upset win.
