Earl Sauce (born August 12, 2010) is an American football tight end for the Colorado Yeti of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL). He played college football for Boise State (BSU) before being drafted by the Baltimore Hawks in the 2033 ISFL Draft (S18). Prior to this, he had been drafted by the Tijuana Luchadores in the 2032 DSFL Draft (S17).

Early years

Earl Sauce was born and raised in Helena Montana. His father Potato Sauce and his mother Tomato Sauce worked together on their corn farm. As he grew up he would be tasked with helping with chores around the farm which helped him gain a bit of muscle. When the rest of the kids would play football at school he would enjoy playing receiver but he wasn't usually the fastest one on the field so as the years moved on and he noticed that he might not be able to be a great receiver because of his limited speed he decided he would try and play tight end. That switch ended up working well for him because he enjoyed blocking a little as well.

College career

When his time came to join a college he got a few scholarship offers but he wanted to stay somewhat close to home so he chose Boise State.

Freshman Year In his freshman year Sauce didn't get very much playing time. Occasionally they would bring him in as an extra body to do some blocking but not much else. By the end of his freshman year Boise State wasn't doing that well so they decided to give some players that usually wouldn't start some extra playing time for the last game of the season. Even though it wasn't all too impressive, Sauce managed to get 3 catches for a total of 19 yards that game which would be a start for his receiving career as tight end.

Sophomore Year With some other players leaving in their last year of school Sauce would get more playing time in his second year but he still wasn't the number one tight end on the roster. In the first 3 games of the season Sauce would average 22.3 yards a game which slowly increased throughout the season as his qb would rely on him more and more. Earl finished the season with 476 receiving yards but no touchdowns.

Junior Year After a large improvement in his second year Sauce would now be the number one tight end on the team and would be fairly reliant even though he wasn't the fastest on the field. In his third year Sauce would finish with 826 receiving yards but sadly still no touchdowns.

Senior Year In his final year Sauce really wanted to finally snag a touchdown but was worried he might not get one at this point. In their first game of the season Earl helped his team drive down the field on their first possession and helped finish of off with a 26 yard touchdown catch. It was one of many that season as he proved himself to be a capable red zone threat. He finished his final year with 981 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

Professional career

DSFL Career After declaring for the draft, Earl Sauce was drafted fairly late to the Tijuana Luchadores {60th} which was somewhat expected due to his lack of speed and at the time scouts saw very little potential in him. In the end this was a perfect spot for the young tight end. Sauce’s first catch on the Luchadores wasn’t until the second week of the season and it was just for six yards and wasn’t anything flashy but it didn’t need to be because he just wanted to contribute in any way he could. And just two weeks later he was able to catch his first touchdown in the DSFL. During the rest of the regular season Sauce was able to get a total of 188 receiving yards and was able to pick up another touchdown to make it two on the year. That season the Luchadores would end up with the second best record in the DSFL and the best record in their conference. In the conference championship game against the San Antonio Marshals Earl Sauce was able to make an eight yard touchdown catch late in the third quarter to extend the lead and the Luchadores would finish the rest of the game without losing that lead. The Luchadores would then go on to face the Portland Pythons at home for the championship game in which Sauce would only have two catches. His first was for 20 yards on a short drive that led to a field goal and his second was for five yards which didn’t lead to anything. Sauce and the Luchadores would go on to beat the Pythons and win the ultimini.

During that following offseason Earl Sauce would be drafted 29th overall to the Baltimore Hawks in the NSFL which was quite a large improvement from how low he was drafted in the DSFL. The Hawks didn’t need Sauce immediately so they informed him that he would be spending a second season down in Tijuana.
