Don T. Dobbler (born March 1, 2029) is an American football wide receiver for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Don The Dobbler was found washed up on the shores of Antigua and Barbuda near the capital St. Johns. His adoptive parents, Dan and Mira Dobbler, had never considered raising a child so once they discovered him on that shore, they said "I guess." and took him home as their own. Dan, a teacher, and Mira, the head principal of the Princess Margaret Secondary School in St Johns, were able to teach him the common language and English. A dark horse due to his upbringing, the Dobbler would find himself isolated from the other school children and would turn to dance as his primary focus. His innovative style and footwork would help him distinguish himself and receive in an invitation to the Antigua and Barbuda International Dance, Music and Folklore Festival in early 2043. Despite his current position and occupation, Don wished to be a marine biologist in hope to discover his origin story. His dancing habit and drive to accomplish the "perfect Dobble" is currently ongoing.

College career

Upon his acceptance into Alabama A&M, Don did not pursue a career in football nor did he have any desire to play. In his junior year, he attended the homecoming game and was drawn to the attention of the star WR commanded at the game. He was intoxicated by the touchdown celebrations and became a walk-on for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs for their 2048 spring season. Athletically privileged at 6'2" and 183 lbs, the Dobbler easily became the starting WR and discovered a community that appreciated his dance prowess. In the 8 games, Don mildly accrued 6 TDs and 750 receiving yards. The Dobble, as we know it today, can be seen in the final game of the spring season. In the fall of 2049, Don had maintained football shape and would go on to amass his first 1000 yard season with a meager 12 TDs. His path to the league was clear, though we will have to discover where it goes from here.

DSFL Season 35

Don Dobbler was drafted by the Tijuana Luchadores in the first round of the S35 DSFL draft. Experts recognize this as a good move. A nice wide receiver duo of Max Hamilton and Don Dobbler is all that is needed to continue the Tijuana #1 hype train. While some may look at the first season as a crucial time to secure Rookie of the Year, this is not the award that Don was focused in obtaining. There is one award above all others, The Centennial Vibes Award. This is given to the player with unlimited vibe potential.

Did he win it this year? Who is to say. In terms of actual football statistics, Don Dobbler was left out of the top ten for wide recievers due to an incredible rookie class at the end of the year. A serviceable reciever in the second half of the year, the Don will continue to be a premium set piece for the Tijuana Luchadores. His eyes continue to point towards the future with Ultimini hopes.

This unlimited potential was recognized by the New Orleans Second Line as they picked him 4th overall in the recent S36 ISFL draft. Reporters stated he was hype af.

DSFL Season 36

The vibes continued as Donny found himself with a new QB in Dolores Bickerman. Still the WR2/1B in the books, The Don was able to have favorable matchups among the CB2s in the DSFL. He would bounce back and forth from being a stud to being a quality decoy in the year. Despite this, Dob Dobbler would put up efficiency numbers like you wouldn’t believe.

By the end of the season, the Luchadores found themselves at the top of the division. Don would also find himself on the boards for a top 10 finish in receiving TDs in a season! Yay! This TD and efficiency prowess would translate into a successful playoff campaign that pitted the Luchas and the Pythons in the Ultimini.

Can you guess who won that one? React in the comments who you think it is before reading the next sentence. The Luchadores would go on to win their ninth Ultimini victory and Don would hear a phone call the following week. NOLA was on the phone, ready to take the prized wide receiver to new heights. He knew that the wide receiver pool was cast up in the ISFL, but was it vast enough for the consecutive winner of the Centennial Vibes Award? The league will have to see.

ISFL Season 37

Don Dobbler was instantly placed in the WR2 slot that he knew and loved. Upon entering the locker room, he was met with eyeballs because of his glowing “winningness” aura. Reports would later describe the initial encounter as very uncomfortable for all of the other Wide Receivers. The only receiver that would meet his rugged yet alluring gaze was our boy, Ttollem Mada. The consistent eye contact was met by Don Dobbler and this would continue long after Mada had stopped looking at him. This eye contact would be his downfall.

Desperate to maintain his alpha receiver status, Don refused to look anywhere besides where Mada was standing. This came to be a problem during ball games! Experts attributed a “lack of focus” and “blatant disregard for the game” to his first couple games as he put up meager numbers and numerous drops. He just wouldn’t stop staring at Mada, leading to missed drop after missed drop. Coaches hired a vision coach who informed Don that the ball was actually Mada’s face and it all clicked back into reality for him. Dobbler would then go on to record several multi-TD games after this mental realignment.

The season would end in the playoffs as NOLA fell to who knows what team. But Don had put up a season that would go into contention for Offensive Rookie of the year (but most likely misses out). Looking ahead, some say that Dob still watches the footballs at night, determined to gain their respect and love.
