Devonte Crook (born January 4, 2019) American football linebacker for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Devonte Crook was born in South Shore Hospital on Chicago's Southside on January, Fourth, Twenty Nineteteen. His mother was a drug addict and his father was a small time drug dealer who spent most of the youngster's childhood in and out of state prison. His youth was marred by gang violence and Crook still bares the emotional scars of his upbringing to this day. Athletics were the only escape Devonte Crook had from the harsh reality of the inner city and he took solace in them from a young age. Crook's first love was Freestyle Wrestling and then eventually Football. Crook started in Pop Warner Football at eight years old. Crook was always a large child, he weighed eleven and a half pounds at birth. By the time he took his first snap in football, he was five foot tall and weighed seventy-two pounds. His large frame made him a natural on the defensive side of the ball, both at linebacker and defensive tackle.

College career

Due to his criminal record, Devonte Crook was not recruited to a Division One college football program when he was released from prison. Instead he began his collegiate career as a member of the Blinn College Buccaneers. Junior College football offered little resistance to the naturally gifted Crook and he dominated the SWJCFC with twenty-two sacks and eleven forced fumbles. This phenomenal season led to Devonte Crook becoming a Junior College All American and winning the NJCAA defensive player of the year award. Despite Crook’s obvious talent, many Division One programs were still hestiant to take a chance on him and he was left with only a handful of options to transfer too. The most high profile of which was the Michigan Wolverines. Crook’s transfer to Michigan was highly controversial and he quickly became the most hated man in college football. Despite his status as a social pariah, Crook excelled at The University of Michigan, racking up twelve sacks and three forced fumbles in his freshman season.Crook's twelve sacks in his rookie campaign, tied the Wolverines sack record. A record he would break with fifteen sacks the following year.
