Career highlights and awards

Demon Jaxson (born January 8, 2020) is an American football defensive end for the Sarasota Sailfish of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL). He played college football at Pomona Pitzer, and in the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL) for the Portland Pythons.

Early years

Demon Jaxson was born in Bedourie, Queensland in Australia. The identity of his parents are unknown and it is assumed that they died when he was a young boy. As a youth, living in the wild Outback, Jaxson quickly learned how to fend for himself, fighting off the wild animals of the Outback. His bush tucker diet helped accelerate his growth and increase his strength and speed. Jaxson was also self taught in maths and can play the piano, aswell as speak four languages. At the ripe age of 17, Jaxson decided to uproot from his shack in Australia and go to follow his dream of studying Neuroscience in the USA.

However, when he arrived at the land of the free, he quickly realised that he wouldn't be able to afford college. Jaxson had an idea though, living in Australia, he had been decent at the sport Aussie Rules, and so, he began writing to schools offering to play sports for them if they allowed him to work on his Neuroscience degree while he did it. Ponoma College saw his letter and were in awe of his physical attributes, and so, took him up on the offer, they told him he would have to play running back and defensive end for them, and so, thus began his collegiate career.

College career

In his Freshman season at Pomona, Jaxson was and instant success on both sides of the ball. At running back he averaged 7.2 YPC on 152 attempts, giving him a total 1095 yards and 13 TDs. At defensive end Jaxson didn't play as many snaps, but still finished the season with 8.5 sacks,2 forced fumbles and a pick 6. However his outstanding displays didn't help the teams overall performance, and the team finished the season with a poor 3-6 record.

Jaxson only got better going into his sophomore season. Running the ball, he averaged 8.7 YPC on 168 attempts giving him a whopping 1461 yards and 17 TDs, as well as this, he caught 15 passes for 254 yards and 3 TDs. This left him with 1715 yards from scrimmage and 20 TDs. From defensive end, Jaxson notched 11 sacks,3 FFs and 2 picks with 1 defensive TD. Once again however, Jaxsons individual performances were not enough for the team and they finished with a 5-4 record. Jaxson did manage to pick up some individual silverware, winning the Gagliardi Trophy and the Melberger Award. This was Jaxsons last season with Pomona, as he declared for the S26 International Simulation Football League Draft soon after.

DSFL Career

Season 25

After being picked up on waivers by the Portland Pythons before the start of the S25 season, Jaxson quickly became a starting player on the team, being able to slot in at either Defenive End or Tackle interchangeably. Jaxsons first ever professional game was a monster one, in preseason against the London Royals, where he managed to pick up 5 tackles, 1 for a loss aswell as 3 sacks. However this was not a sign of things to come, as he failed to register a regular season sack until week 10 of the season against the Kansas City Coyotes, and only got 3 across the whole season. Things weren’t all bad however as he finished 10th in Tackles For a Loss with 11. On the team front, the Pythons were not having too much success, and 2 losses in their final three games would mean they missed out on the playoffs by one game, with a record of 7-7. In the upcoming offseason Jaxson was to enter the ISFL draft, but it was widely expected by coaches and the media alike that he would spend another season in the DSFL playing with the Portland Pythons, in search of an Ultimini Championship.

Season 26

In the off-season before S26 Jaxson was selected by the Sarasota Sailfish in the first round of the draft. His selection at 10th overall shocked media and fellow players alike as he wasn’t seen as a Prospect who had his mechanics and game knowledge finely polished, unlike others still on the board at the pick. It was to nobody’s surprise when Jaxson announced he had agreed to spend another season in the DSFL, quoted as saying “Portland and I are getting us some rings this season.” Going into the season it certainly looked promising for the Pythons as they had lots of returning veterans, such as Jaxson and Moe Skeeter, while also having a strong draft class, and the Pythons were pegged as the team to beat by pundits. The Pythons dominated through the first portion of the season, winning their first 8 games, with Jaxson getting 4 sacks. Their first loss of the season came in week 9 at home to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers, but the team rallied and won out, giving them a record of 13-1, tied for the best ever DSFL record, and the 1 overall seed going into the playoffs.

Jaxsons’ first playoff appearance against the London Royals was rather uneventful, he registered no stats as the Pythons made hard work of the game, eventually coming out on top with a score of 23-13. His first and only Ultimini appearance ended in heartbreak, as the Pythons blew a 17 point lead to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers, allowing 20 unanswered points in the second half to lose 20-17. This was Jaxsons final game for the Portland Pythons before moving on to the Sarasota Sailfish in the ISFL, and he managed just 3 tackles with 1 for a loss in the game.

ISFL Career

Season 27

Following the devastating loss in the Ultimini in the previous season Jaxson would be called upon to play for his team in the ISFL, the Sarasota Sailfish. Jaxson would be joining a monstrous Sailfish team that had only missed the playoffs once in their short history, and him joining the team was more of a luxury rather than a necessity. Jaxson had a chip on his shoulder as a result of his draft critics and before the season was quoted as saying “I’m going to prove why I was a first rounder, and why I’m the best rookie in my class.” The regular season went well for himself and the Sailfish as they won 12 of their 16 games to earn themselves the 1st seed and a playoff bye. Jaxson had quite a solid rookie season getting himself 23 tackles (3 for a loss), a forced fumbled and 2 fumble recoveries, 8 sacks plus a safety to boot.

Jaxsons’ first playoff game was the NSFC Championship Game against the Colorado Yeti and the Sailfish made light work of them, winning 47-27 with Jaxson recording 2 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. In the biggest game of his career to date, the Season 27 Ultimus, Jaxson brought his A-Game. He recorded 3 tackles and strip sacked opposing quarterback Ben Slothlisberger, recovering the fumble and taking it back 12 yards for a touchdown, making the score 21-3. The Sailfish went on to beat the New Orleans Second Line 34-10 and Jaxson was awarded Defensive Player of the Game honours and given his first ever Ultimus ring. In his post game interview he was heard saying “This was light work for our guys, I’m sure we’ll be back to do it again.”
