Season 23 As waiver pick up for the 23rd season of the developmental simulation football league. Dave Batista played in four game for the Minnesota Grey Ducks. It was definitely a learning experience for Dave Batista as he only recorded 9 receptions for 55 yards. From a blocking standpoint Dave Batista was able to average a little over 1 pancake per game with a total of 5. The season would end with the Minnesota Grey Ducks missing the playoffs and Dave Batista entering into the Development Simulation Football League entry draft.

Season 24 With the 25th overall pick the Portland Pythons selected Dave Batista. Dave Batista would go on to have decent season. Playing mostly on the outside to force a match up nightmare against tiny cornerbacks it proved vital for the Pythons offense over 500 yards with 4 touchdowns the most important statline would be the converting of first downs. Sam Howitzer would look for Dave Batista as his safety net. While Korbin Brown would bring highlight playmaking catches, Dave Batista was converting the dirty first downs to keep the drives going. A total of 23 first down catches which was approximately 41.8% of his catches were for first downs. Dave Batista was also able to open up the run game by totaling up 17 pancakes as well. All in all a moderate season for Dave Batista, but for someone who had no college experience to come in with his first full season he was the Pythons he was able to develop the skills that would take him to the next level.
