Darren Morris (born January 21, 1999) was an American football safety for the Baltimore Hawks and Arizona Outlaws of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He played college football for University of Oklahoma (Oklahoma) before being drafted by the Arizona Outlaws in the 2020 ISFL Draft (S5). Prior to this, he had been drafted by the San Antonio Marshals in the 2019 DSFL Draft (S4). Darren Morris was named a NSFL Pro Bowl roster member for the Season 10 NSFL Pro Bowl in 2025 (S10), the first and only time he made a Pro Bowl team. Darren retired from the NSFL at the end of 2028 (S13).

Early years

Darren Morris was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Canadian ex-pat parents working in the United States. He had a regular upbringing, with a gifted natural physical ability that lended him towards sports. Despite his inclination for physicality, coaches often found him to understand the game better than most. In Darren's early football days, he played as quarterback during midget tournaments for his uncanny knowledge to understand the game and the field. However, in high school, Darren made the switch to free safety - a position where he could leverage his physical gifts and natural speed, while quarterbacking the defensive plays with his unique skillset.

College career

"Darren Morris played for the Oklahoma Sooners with the University of Oklahoma from S1 to S4, when he made the leap to the DSFL. During his 3 seasons in collegiate football, Darren steadily progressed through the developments of a defensive back. Thanks to his natural speed, he was able to leverage his unique ability to read the play and find the open holes on defense to fill. He was a vaulted member of the Sooners, despite missing most of his final S3 collegiate season to a concussion that continues to plague his game to this day.

During the course of his college career, Darren put up 145 tackles, 22 interceptions (including an incredible 13 interceptions in half of a dominant season in S3), 45 PDs and 4 pick-sixes. It was the later that caught the eye of the Sooner fans, who often carried ""More-six"" signs for a play on words for his knack to find the house on defensive turnovers. However, his dominant S3 campaign, and potentially historic run, was cut short due to a serious helmet-on-helmet collision with a WR only half-way through college S3. "

Professional career

DSFL career

"In part due to injury concerns regarding Darren's end to S3 in college, his draft stock plummeted in the S4 DSFL Entry Draft. Despite managers showing interest in the promising defensive back, there lingered concerns that his injury could be re-aggravated in the next level of competition - especially in the tackle-friendly DSFL. In the end, Darren ended up going in the 3rd round and pick number 17 to the San Antonio Marshals.

Under GMs kckolbe and iamslm, Morris faced his ups and downs in the next level of competition. During the course of his S4 DSFL campaign, Morris put up 61 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 PDs, and 1 TD. It was a solid effort, and Darren was a valued member of the legendary San Antonio defensive stalwart in the S4 season. The San Antonio Marshals made the playoffs that season, but tragedy struck in the West Conference Final against the Tijuana Luchadores as Darren resuffered his concussion in the victory and was unavailable for the DSFL Championship game against the rival Portland Pythons. The Marshals lost the championship game, and Darren saw his draft stock plummet from discussed number 1 overall selection to late second round."

NSFL S5 Draft Combine

In thanks to his concussion suffered in the divisional finals of the S4 DSFL season, highly touted prospect Darren Morris began to fall down the draft rankings. By the time the draft itself came around, Darren was still in the hospital recovering from the concussion and could not attend. To the surprise of many, he ended up being grabbed in the secound round, pick number 12, by the Arizona Outlaws. The Outlaws were under new management after a series of devasting reports had come to light that put their half-decade of dominance into question. It was the perfect location to begin fresh.

Darren was able to recover fully during the offseason and joined the Outlaws for the first game of the season. He continued to develop over the course of the next four seasons into a defensive mainstay at safety, consitently getting listed as one of the best in his position. His development was off the charts and he looked to be in the clear to become a major defensive player for the Arizona Outlaws. Until, in the final game of the S8 season, Darren re-suffered with what was then his 3rd concussion. Despite continuing to play at the same great, but not elite level, it appeared as though Darren's potential would be capped at his current level.

Despite the setback, Darren has made strives recently to improve his game. His elite speed has somehow gotten even better, along with his agility, endurance and physicality. According to reports from Arizona, a ""fog"" has cleared from Darren's mind after almost 2 and a half whole seasons of stagnant development. With the tail end of his career around the corner, Darren continues to put effort towards becoming one of the best safeties in the NSFL.

At the beginning of 2028 (S13), Darren was traded from the Arizona Outlaws to the Baltimore Hawks. Darren played the rest of the season for Baltimore before announcing his retirement from the league.
