DB Jadakiss (born May 27, 2014) is an American football safety for the Arizona Outlaws of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He played in the DSFL for the Norfolk Seawolves before being selected by Arizona as the 4th overall pick in the S23 NSFL Entry draft.

Early years

DB Jadakiss was born in Yonkers and grew up near Getty Square. He was a gifted athlete from a young age and dominated the competition on both sides of the ball from Pop Warner through High School. Even before Pop Warner, DB Jada loved to toss around the ball with friends in the street, and he quickly developed a reputation for being one of the toughest, most physical kids in the neighborhood. He wasn't afraid to level someone with a hard hit, even on concrete. When this became a problem, he was enrolled in Pop Warner early and his big, concussing hits were approved of out on the grass field with pads. Nonetheless, he continued to lay the boom, gifted with tremendous speed and strength from a young age. This continued through all four years of high school, where he led his team on both sides of the ball. By senior year, with scouts from all around the northeastern states coming to Yonkers to scout and recruit, he decided to focus his talents on the defensive side of the ball, where his keen eye for reading plays would be a valuable asset to pair with his raw speed and strength. As a senior, Jadakiss was the #9 safety recruit in the nation, grabbing attention from several big name schools in the northeast.

College career

Jadakiss stayed local for college, going to Fordham in The Bronx. He had scholarship opportunities from a few other schools throughout the Northeast, but wanted to stay local and loyal to D-Block so he suited up for the hometown Rams, despite the relative lack of prestige at the program. He was a star from Freshman year and proved that he could've played at any level of college football. Jadakiss made a name for himself as an all-around safety, leading the Rams in both tackles and interception for three of his four years on the team. In those three years - Jada's sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, Fordham took home the Patriot League title, and even made it to the FCS championship game in his junior year season. The defensive record books essentially belong entirely to Jadakiss at Fordham, leading the school in all-time tackles, INTs, fumble recoveries, defensive touchdowns, kick/punt return touchdowns, and sex had. Beyond his on-the-field prowess, Jadakiss relished the idea of being a local hero, and hosted community events throughout the season. By the end of his college career, the previously unheralded Fordham program became a hotspot for local talent in Harlem and The Bronx, and the Rams to this day continue to have a strong and consistent local pipeline.

Professional career

DSFL career

Jadakiss was picked up by the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers at the end of S21 - while he didn't see playing time on the field, he was a valuable member of the team (supposedly) and helped (supposedly) the Buccaneers take home the S21 Ultimini.

Jadakiss was selected 14th overall in the S22 DSFL Entry Draft by the Norfolk Seawolves. He was the second of two safeties chosen in the first two rounds by Norfolk; Jadakiss and first round pick Adelie de Pengu would form a rookie safety duo that progressed together throughout the season.

Jadakiss made his DSFL debut in Week 1 vs. the Tijuana Luchadores with 4 tackles and a fumble recovery and followed that performance up in Week 2 with 5 tackles and a forced fumble vs. the Kansas City Coyotes. In week 6 vs. the Portland Pythons, Jadakiss stripped running back Joseph Petrongolo in the red zone and recovered the fumble himself in the end zone, a crucial play in what would eventually be a 1 point win for the Seawolves. Jadakiss set his season-high for tackles with 9 in Week 8 vs. Tijuana, a game in which he also got his first career interception.

Jadakiss's DSFL career peaked in the last week of the regular season during a must-win game vs. the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. In Myrtle Beach's first drive of the game, on a 3rd and 3 from Norfolk's 35, Jadakiss picked off a Chris Ramos pass intended for Clark Boyd and returned it 66 yards to the house for his first career touchdown. Norfolk wound up winning in overtime, 27-24, and punching a ticket to the S22 playoffs.

At the end of the season, Jadakiss was selected as Norfolk's Defensive Commodore for the S22 season. Jadakiss was also selected as one of the safeties for the DSFL South in the Pro Bowl. The Seawolves would go on to win the S23 Ultimini without Jadakiss, which made him a little sad and a lot proud.

ISFL career

After one season in Norfolk, Jadakiss got the call up to Arizona as the starting Strong Safety in S23. The Outlaws' young defense impressed, finishing with the fewest points allowed in the ASFC. Jadakiss had a solid rookie campaign, finishing 4th on the team in tackles with 82. Jadakiss added a sack, a blocked punt, and three pass deflections as well. The highlight of DB's season came in Week 12, when he intercepted a pass from Otters legend Franklin Armstrong and returned it 60 yards for both his first ISFL interception and his first ISFL touchdown. Alongside Desmond Scarlett, Quinn Hughes, and Zamir Kehla, the Outlaws secondary established itself as one of the best in the league with plenty of room to grow still. The young Outlaws team had an up and down season that ultimately ended in disappointment, as they finished 8-8 and missed out on the playoffs due to a tiebreak. Speaking on the matter, Jadakiss said: "Disappointing no doubt, but if you look at the young talent on this roster, it's clear our trajectory is upwards and I can GUARANTEE that we make the playoffs next season, no doubt about it." In the offseason following S23, Jadakiss put in a significant amount of work training with AZ linebacker and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Galf Wilf to improve several aspects of his physical and mental game.

Jadakiss's play style and usage within Arizona's scheme changed a bit in his second season with the Outlaws, focusing on a much more physical style of play. Jadakiss's tackling numbers shot way up, as he recorded the third most tackles on the team - 110 - and the third most sacks on the team - 8 - during Season 24. These sack and tackle numbers suggest a tendency to be in the right place at the right time, a tendency confirmed by Jadakiss's three recovered fumbles, the most in the entire league. DB had a real nose for the football, and he credits this to spending time picking up after teammate Zamir Kehla off the field as well: "In this season, I recovered two fumbles forced by Zamir, basically picking up his shit. I've gotten lots of practice doing the same shit off the field. In the locker room, he'll just drop his stuff wherever. Trash, food wrappers, his headphones, doesn't matter. He doesn't seem to care much about putting stuff away, so I'm always picking it up after him - putting his shit back in his locker, stealing his weed, throwing away his trash. I think that practice paid off big time during the season - when he forced fumbles and forgot to pick them up, I was there waiting to scoop them up for us." The Outlaws had a disappointing end to the season, with inane tiebreaker rules leaving them on the outside looking in from a 4-way tie for first place in the conference. No matter, DB and the gang are confident that next season is actually the one.
