Claude Miller II (born October 23, 2016) is an American football defensive tackle for the London Royals of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

A native of Montreal, Quebec, Claude Miller II grew up with an older brother and his parents. His mother and father both worked good jobs for financial companies in their offices. His brother was his role model, following him around at home and trying to copy him in sports such as hockey and soccer. When Claude hit 8 years old, he was already 5'6" and 150lbs which gave his parents the idea to enroll him into football with great genetics.

Playing for his suburbs team, Claude was one of the main reasons they won the provincial championship of Quebec, gaining interest from many different high schools for scholarships. He decided to follow his families footsteps and go to school to Vincent Massey Collegiate but unfortunately, they did not have a football team. The family thoughts about playing sports were always "School comes first" and Vincent Massey Collegiate was one of the top-ranked schools in the province. Claude would continue to play for his suburbs team and continue to win championships and awards. He was widely known and recognized in the city and the tight-knit community he lived in the east end of the Montreal island. By the age of 13, he had decided to quit playing hockey and soccer and focus on football where he thought he'd have a long career, hopes of making it to the pros, wherever that may be.

College career

On graduation day from High School, Claude had to decide where he wanted to go. Unfortunately, he was not ready to leave home and pursue a career in the United States of America so he decided to go to Vanier College for a couple of semesters in Montreal. With a football team, he was able to pursue both sports and education. He decided to skip college and go directly to University in the Canadian and the Quebec education system being different than those in the States.

He chose the University of Laval, the Rouge et Or (translated to Red and Gold in English). This was a big step for Claude since it was a francophone University and Claude always spoke french as a second language. Coming into the team in his first year, it was an uphill battle with their starting and backup Quarterback getting season-ending injuries by the 3rd week of the season. The team relied heavily on the defense, and Claude was a staple of that Defensive Line. In his second season with the team, the University of Laval posted a record of 8-2 in the regular season and Claude registered 45 tackles and 11.5 sacks, being named the leagues defensive player of the year. The Rouge et Or went on to win the Vanier Cup against the Concordia Stingers in the finals.

With eyes set on the NFL draft, Claude had to have an impressive third season which was cut short by a torn MCL and ACL in the pre-season. Because of his dreams cut short, he decided to stay at the university for another year and hopefully play his last season fully healthy and go back to the top of the league. That year, the University of Laval recruited highly touted talent and strengthened their offence, which led the team to break league records in Passing Yards, Points Scored and Touchdowns. The Rouge et Or finished 10-0 and would go on to be one of the only teams to ever go undefeated in both the Regular Season and Post-Season. Claude Miller II would end up falling short of defensive player of the year, winning a nomination but not having the same stats as he did in his second season. His college career ended with 2 Vanier Cup victories, 1 Defensive Player of the Year and runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year.

DSFL

After realizing that his dream to play in the NFL would not be possible because of the immense skill set needed to make it in that league, Claude Miller II decided that he would explore other options. Speaking with his agent, they thought it would be a great idea to join another competitive an up and coming league like the NSFL and it's Developmental league, the DSFL. Claude Miller decided to put his name as an eligible player in that league without doing any further information. Unfortunately, at the date of registration, he joined a couple days too early for the Season 23 draft in the NSFL and is one of the oldest players in the draft for the Season 22 draft, making him one of the lowest earners for the draft. Because of this decision, Claude decided to fire his agent and hire his father to take care of that angle of his career from now on.

London Royals

As soon as his name was put into the leagues registry, many teams around the league had high hopes of adding Claude Miller II onto their roster. With many connections with players around the league, Claude seemed to be a hot topic when it came to the waiver pickup. Not many teams needed a Defensive Tackle unfortunately, so only 3 teams had put their name in the hat to acquire him. The London Royals were the lucky winners of the sweepstakes and Claude would soon be on his way to one of the expansion teams in the DSFL. Only playing in 4 games of that season, Claude Miller II was able to raise some eyebrows in the upcoming draft, putting up 9 tackles and 1 Tackle for Loss on a very low snap count. The London Royals were unable to make the playoffs with Claude Miller helping out at the end, but the future looks bright for both the Royals and Miller, who have a possibility of being together once again next season, depending on what happens at the upcoming NSFL draft.

NSFL

Claude Miller II was selected in the 5th round of the S22 NSFL draft by the Arizona Outlaws, the 52nd pick total. Claude Miller II was highly recruited going into the draft because of the uncertainty between all other teams of what to think of him. Claude Miller II signed up late to the draft and everyone knew he was going to go late, it was just a matter of when and which team would be willing to take a chance on him. He was selected as the 11th Defensive Lineman and was one of 16 players selected by the Outlaws in that draft respectively.

S22 Season

The Outlaws decided to sign Claude to a 3 year deal worth 8 million dollars, with 7 million being guaranteed. His rookie season would hold a bonus if he would reach a total of 300 TPE by the end of the regular season. Claude surpassed that mark fairly easily because of his activity and dedication to improving his game. With the amount of picks that the Outlaws had, they decided to keep Claude on the roster rather than sending him down to the DSFL. A big group of youngsters joined the team and would develop the core of the roster for many seasons to come. An expected tough season ahead of them, the Outlaws finished with a 4-8-1 record in the tough ASFC, good for 5th in the conference. The group stuck with the program an the development and kept many of the games close, which was a good motivating factor for the young team. It showed them that they had what it takes to compete with the stronger teams, they were just missing a little bit of experience and improvement. It was a somewhat disappointing start to the season, but Claude Miller was eventually able to rack up a total of 27 tackles and unfortunately only 1 sack. The inexperience and the adapting to the stronger an better players in the NSFL showed in his rookie campaign, but he still does posses and show the potential of being an effective and usable Defensive Tackle in the NSFL.
