Chet Larson (born March 30, 1998) is an American football linebacker for the Baltimore Hawks of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

Chet Larson grew up in Odense Denmark, which is the main city of the island of Fyn, which lies between the main island of Zealand (where Copenhagen is located) and the mainland, Jutland. He grew up in a fairly typical way, with a sports loving family and with a dad supporting Manchester United because that's where Peter Schmical played, and an American mum who used to let him watch American sports on Sunday night. He was good at school and earned his high school diploma with distinction.

He first found football (the one played in armor, not with ones feet) through sunday night TV watching and was lucky enough to live across the road from the park that hosted the small stadium that the local amature gridiron (as they call it) team. When he was in high school he tried out for the team and ended up with a special teams role and as one of the depth safeties. He continued to develop and grow over his time with the team and eventually became their star linebacker, moving to that position when his late growth spurt filled out his lanky frame and enabled him to be that rangey utility linebacker, apt at reading Quarterbacks and being the extra blitzer either from the edge or deep inside, or dropping into soft zone coverage to break up passes.

College career

On finishing highschool he was invited to try out for the semi-professional Danish team in the big six European completion the Arhus Aurochs. He quickly became one of the starting Linebackers and future stars for the team. Helping to establish a formidable defensive unit, that unfortunately could not be matched for competence on the other side of the ball. Chet undertook an apprenticeship in highway engineering while playing, since there wasn't an engineering programme he was interested in at Arhus University.

Peter Larson (no relation) the Danish TE of the Austin Copperheads, maintained an annual training camp with the Aurochs. It was during one of these that Peter introduced Chet to his agent Tomas Nuk-Zoma, and the idea that Chet might have the talent necessary to trying out for the DSFL. The DSFL commission reviewed his application to be included in the s25 DSFL entry draft and decided to admit him. Due to unusual travel circumstances around the led up to the draft Chet was unable to register in time, but the league allowed him to be added to waivers and was subsequently picked up by the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers.

Professional career

DSFL career

Chet played a hybrid DE/Edge LB role during his tenure at the Buceeners, helping the team team lead the conference in wins for S25, and leading the team in sacks, while also contributing to the passing defence.

In season 26, he was elected on of the captains of the team and again played in his hybrid role. The regular season was not as successful for the Buceeners, however they did manage to qualify for the play offs, and after 3 road wins in a row, they lifted the Ultimati and took it back to Sydney to celebrate, the team having moved there in the S25 offseason.

Coming off the high of the S26 Ultimati win, Chet was torn between staying with the team for another season, and heading up to his senior team Baltimore Hawks. With a number of trades in the S26 offseason by Baltimore the choice was taken away from him and the call came for Chet to jump a plane back to the states.

Drafted to the Baltimore hawks, in the 3rd round, Chet had planned to develop for 2 more seasons in the DSFL, however trades and changes to league rules meant there was a new opportunity at LB with the team, so after only 2 seasons in the DSFL Chet planned to make his ISFL Debut in S27 as one of the teams linebackers.

Baltimore would go on to lose all thier games during S27 becoming one of the few 0-16 teams in ISFL history. Chet took up a role as the teams third LB, and only MLB specialist, he performed well if not spectaularly, and finished the season as the tackle leader amoung defensive rookies, and while he manged disrupt passes well during the season, he didnt manage to get to the quarterback to record his first ISFL career sack in S27.

S28 is underway and Chet has started strongly, leading the ISFL in tackles at week 6, as well as having recorded his first career sack
