Chad "The Mauler" Maulolo (born January 7, 2007) is an American football defensive end for the Palm Beach Solar Bears of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for University of Montana (UM).

Early years

Chad was raised nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Absarokee, MT. Absarokee was a football town. The town population was approximately 1000 people. His high school was class C. This meant they played 8 man football. "The Huskies" as they were known, and "Go Dawgs!!!" was the customary cheer all throughout the town, was one of the towns greatest sources of pride. Their colors were Orange and Black and they had a mythic head coach by the name of Al Walker. During football season it is customary to have Orange and Black paw prints painted all throughout town. This town repped hard. Being in Class C also meant that he played iron man football his entire career at Absarokee High. His senior year the school moved up to Class B (132 students). This meant they played 11 man football. At the beginning of the season they had 18 people. By the end of the season the team had 13 people playing 11 man football. It was the greatest learning experience of his life. Throughout his high school career he played offensive line and defensive line. He specialized in playing DE. He ended his high school career with 40 sacks, 2 of them for safeties.

College career

After graduation Chad moved to Missoula to live with his grandmother and he attended the University of Montana. The Grizzlies or "Griz" became his football home for the next 4 years. He was a true freshman in 2023. His first year he came in pretty green. He didn't play any games until the 5th game of the season, as his footwork was inadequate coming into college. Even at a disadvantage in his 1st game of the year it was obvious his strength would help him over compensate for sloppy feet. Coach Walker worked with him over and over. By the end of the season he could really begin to see some improvement. Chad scored the game winning sack in the last game of his first season. In the next 3 years Chad would go on to become a technician. He worked day and night tirelessly, obsessively, to get better. Chad increased his sack rate each year. [1, 4, 7, 17] This all culminated in him having a banner year of 17 sacks and helping his team to the pinnacle of football in the Big Sky Conference. The National Championship Game.
The Griz lost to Northern Utah in 2026. Chads focus now is his transition into a professional career in the DSFL and then hopefully the NSFL.
