Captain Rogers (born July 4, 1918) is an American football runningback for the Norfolk Seawolves of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Steve Rogers was born on Independence Day in the year of 1918. His mother, Sarah Rogers, was a tuberculosis ward nurse, spending much of her days being a caring helper. This was a trait she passed down to Steve. The trait he received from his father was persistent patriotism - a never give up attitude that would be the driving force in all of Steve Rogers' endeavors. His father, Joseph Rogers, was killed in action as a member of the 107th infantry during World War I, just months before Steve was born.

As Steve grew up, he didn't grow much. As one of the smallest people of his age group, he was constantly the target of harassment and bullying from his larger peers. Despite this, he never went down without a fight. Fortunately, his best friend Bucky was always not far away, shielding Rogers from harm.

Steve's life would change forever when the battles raging on in Europe during World War II came to American soil. All able-bodied men were called on to defend the country's freedom and eliminate the evil spreading overseas. The problem is, Rogers was not able-bodied. After trying countless times to join the ranks, like his father before him, and getting denied each time, he began to wonder if he would ever be able to join the fight. A lucky break came when Dr. Abraham Erskine, a leader in a secret government sanctioned project, noticed Steve's brave heart and fighting spirit.

Erskine was able to enlist Rogers into the military, but the purpose at the time was unknown. Steve was unable to perform as well as the other soldiers in his platoon. However, he showed more intelligence, critical thinking, and kind-hearted will that the other soldiers lacked. Because of this, he was selected to become the first ever super-soldier. After the operation completed, he had grown from his puny skrawny form into a tall, well-built man.

Continuing on to the battlefields of WWII, Rogers from that point forward became a military hero by the name of Captain America. His grand accomplishments in fighting the Nazis, along with his destruction of the extremist group Hydra, gained him much favor with the public and caused him to become a legend in the history books.

Tragically, during a battle with the infamous Red Skull in 1942, Captain America was left with a difficult decision. An aircraft carrying weapons of mass destruction was headed towards various US cities, and there was no way to stop it without manually dropping the bird into the ice below. Rogers sacrificed his life for his country...however, his body was powerful enough to survive the crash and be preserved in the ice for almost a century.

College career

Prior to becoming a super soldier, Steve Rogers attended Brooklyn College solely for the education as he was not nearly the athlete he is today.

After coming out of the ice in 2035, Rogers was distraught and took a lot of time trying to comprehend his existence in the modern world. There were no wars to fight - peace in time. But that left Rogers as something he had fought so desparately to stop being - useless. As an homage to his past life, Steve legally changed his first name to Captain and became Captain Rogers. Seeing the glory players on the gridiron were receiving, Captain decided to try his luck in a very different field of battle - the football field. He has geared up and is ready to take his shot at running back as his sheer athletic talent has shot him up draft boards everywhere. He may not have played football before - but he won't give up until he acheives the glory he once had as Captain America.
