Armor Queen (born January 1, 2031) is an American football wide receiver who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Cardiff University, was drafted 13th overall to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers, where she played a season, and then drafted 8th overall to the New Orleans Second Line. In Week 9 of 2055 (S40) she was traded to the Berlin Fire Salamanders.

Early years

Born Aurora Pendragon, the Queen was always fascinated with knights and the world of fantasy. She was seen regularly wielding a sword as though she was the main character of one of the many stories she read about growing up. There was always a situation at school where she got too into a battle on the playground which sent the other student to the nurse’s office or off to their parents to get onto Aurora. That never stopped her from continuing her dreams of becoming a knight as a child. Her favorite time was Halloween when he father let her don a full costume in order to complete her act as not some Disney princess, but the King of the Round Table, King Arthur. Little did she know just how connected to the famous king Aurora actually was.

Getting older for Aurora led to a slight dampening of the knight’s dream since it was no longer seen as cute when a girl in her late teens was smacking her friends with a wooden sword in full armor. Yet she never lost the drive to study those knights she desperately wanted to become. The research gave her the greatest answer she could hope for as she found that her surname was not just similar to the former King Arthur, but that she was a descendant of Arthur. Her dreams of becoming a knight grew quietly and her acceptance into Cardiff University began a new step toward that silent dream.

College career

Aurora began college at Cardiff University with the dream to revive the tales of her ancestor for the modern world. It was difficult to begin that dream without some sort of Excalibur to draw from stone to show her might. During the search, she continued to study in school while constantly on the hunt for the sword which proved more challenging than she had hoped. On a dark and stormy night, Aurora was rushing home after class toward her flat when she lost her footing on the steep hill leading up to her home before passing out. Her life changed in an instant from that brief head injury.

When she came out of her brief blackout only a few minutes later, she saw the sword that she had long waited for. A shining light from the sky above lit up this beautiful saber before her that soon was pulled from the thick mud at the bottom of the hill she was at, raised into the air, and Aurora believed fully that she had become King Arthur. A man quickly rushed down the hill to check on the girl who had just fallen down into this ditch, worried about the large red bump on her as his headlights shined this broken umbrella she had in hand. The man spoke from behind his jaguar mask, introducing himself as Armor King and telling her that he could take her to a hospital nearby. Aurora enjoyed that she had found herself Excalibur and now her Merlin which gave her the idea to become Armor Queen for the guide she now had. Aurora reassured the man that she never felt better before walking off, completely changed from her past.

Professional career

2052 - Bondi Beach Buccaneers

Expectations were pretty mixed with Armor Queen in the draft since she was one of the only players with zero college football experience beyond recreational play. That kept few teams off of drafting her in the first round, but eventually the Bondi Beach Buccaneers selected her in the second round at thirteenth overall. There she was quick to prove her worth to earn the starting running back position while also joining veteran players for punt and kick return duties. The first few games of the season really challenged the move that some other players began to question making Queen the sole running back. However, those worries would quickly get shut down as she blew up on every defense around the league. Her running style was much more dangerous than people expected and she racked up three Bondi Beach rushing records as a rookie. Queen’s 407 rushing attempts, 1624 rushing yards, and 14 touchdowns all were enough as well to win her the Offensive Rookie of the Year and the DSFL Most Valuable Player awards. Her award winning season, along with many other players, got the New Orleans Second Line to trade up to take her at eight overall.

2053 - New Orleans Second Line

During the offseason, Armor Queen was called up to the New Orleans Second Line in order to complete the running back committee along with the veteran Stig who was there to provide guidance to the rising star. Queen fit into her role as a gadget player quickly with providing any sort of relief for the offense whenever needed. The Second Line saw a valuable asset in their hands with a player that could play both as a running back and a wide receiver with her reliable ability to get yards. Her season took some time to really begin, but week 4 Queen had made herself an official piece of the Second Line offense with a strong performance in the red zone. That is where she found most of her work early on as a quick touchdown finisher whenever Stig had ran his legs off down the field. Later in the season she performed well on her own in the rushing game and as a somewhat decent pass blocker. With her sword training in the offseason back home she plans on making a stronger return next season despite still playing at the RB2 spot still.

2054 - New Orleans Second Line

While Queen’s work in 2053 was solid for a rookie competing with a veteran at the same position, that would not be the same in 2054 with the Second Line opting to stick with using Queen as a secondary running back behind Stig. Many games she served only as a replacement whenever Stig had run out of gas which limited the success that Queen could have from a growth standpoint. Queen was quoted after a rough outing in week 8, where New Orleans lost 13-6 against Chicago, saying that she was “looking at the teamwork other running back rooms had” when compared to her. The frustration could be felt during some team locker room interviews where Armor Queen refused to get a word in or was never given the opportunity to do so. Still, her stats remained relatively the same with ten less carries than in 2053 and even showed that Queen was getting better at keeping with the speed of the ISFL. A few fan pages of the running back have stated that she might possibly be thinking about moving from her New Orleans home soon though as it recently popped up on Zillow for a few hours before being removed.

2055 - New Orleans Second Line/Berlin Fire Salamanders

Queen started off 2055 with the starting role at New Orleans firmly in hand. She would be the main work horse that she had been wanting ever since being called up, but the transition did not come without its problems. After posting respectable backup running back stats in her first two seasons in New Orleans, there was a struggle for her trying to find success on the field. It provided many difficult games for both Queen and for the Second Line as both general managers were also on the verge of leaving the team to begin the season. There were hardly hopes for getting better as Armor Queen could not find the endzone on many drives. Often she was just a yard getting player down the field to setup a touchdown which only aided in her frustrations at playing. Midway through the season, with the managers both announcing their intentions to leave, Armor Queen wanted to find a way out. She made the move to Berlin quickly with the changing of the leaders where she finished out her season as the primary running back across the world yet had the same problems. She could not find the endzone with unfortunate offensive line play in Berlin so in 2056 she hopes that improvements can be made. With a lifetime contract possibly on the horizon, everyone is currently hoping that her struggles start to end.

2056 - Berlin Fire Salamanders

After getting a full off season in Berlin, things were set for Armor Queen to take the full brunt of the offensive back field along with Santa-Cruz. The duo paired well with their rushing ability during offseason practices so it seemed that the Fire Salamanders might be setting up for a decent season together. However, things did not go nearly as planned with the team nor Armor Queen. Her struggles to find the endzone only increased in this full season with her new home as she did not score a single rushing touchdown until week 6 in a losing effort against the Sarasota Sailfish. Toward the end of the season, her stats did begin to pick up as both a rushing threat and a receiving threat where she led the team in total yards toward the end of the Berlin season. The strong finish by Armor Queen leaves both her and fans hopeful that, in S42, she can make a name for herself internationally. She reaches her peak seasons here soon in terms of experience so the door will not be open for long.

2057 - Berlin Fire Salamanders

Armor Queen quickly managed to prove herself in 2057 as a dual threat running back with a solid performance in week one. Many that had kept doubting her as a legitimate player in the past now were quickly seeing just how much of a force that she could be when given the workhorse role within the offense. “It feels good to have people want me,” Queen was quoted after seeing how many fantasy teams had traded for her through the season, “now I feel like an actual member of the league!” She shared thoughts with Berlin newspapers on struggles she had this season and last about wanting to take a step away from football due to a lack of league-wide respect but says things have gotten better somewhat. However, newspapers did not get a comment after the awful showing on the ISFL awards stream where the top fantasy running back only received second team All-Pro votes behind a running back with a season slightly worse than hers and losing out on being properly awarded during the ceremony. Considering the lack of respect before, things might not be going well in her next season.
