Anthony James Rowland (born January 10, 2004) is an American football cornerback currently awaiting assignment in the National Simulation Football League (X). He played college football for Utah State University (Utah) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Rowland was born in Jacksonville, Florida and always grew up playing football. From a very young age he loved playing defensive back and it was why he became a cornerback in high school. He started out in flag football and then started tackle at nine years old where he really excelled. Rowland's speed and hands were awesome which had lots of coaches thinking he'd want to be a receiver, but Rowland had a fear of being hit and wanted to play defense instead. By the time he hit high school he got over this fear and started playing some receiver but he was already crazy good at corner back so there was no point in him playing receiver. Rowland was one of the best in Florida during his senior year and set some records for his high school before signing a scholarship to Utah.

College career

In his freshman year, Rowland wasn't really all that good. His stats were subpar and his commitment to the team was questioned by some of the coaches who thought he wasn't giving it his all out on the field. Instead of giving up though Rowland tried harder and came back in his sophomore year where he put up some really great numbers and earned a starting spot. Heading into his junior season Rowland was ranked very high again and people thought he was probably one of the best in the world, and he really performed like it too. Rowland helped lead Utah to a NCAA final four spot before they would be eliminated. Finally imthis year in his senior year Rowland has been excellent, leading the NCAA in interceptions and even adding a bunch of tackles which is surprise after he hasn't been very good with them before. Rowland is starting to make his game about a lot more than just picking off balls, and has gotten really good at making the most out of every defensive drive.
