Geralt (born July 4, 2308) is an American football safety who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for University of Gdańsk and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Geralt was born in the forests of Rivia in the early ages. His exact age remains somewhat nebulous due to his vast life experiences and near immortality, but based on the number of scars he has, it can be reasonably presumed that he is around 70 years of age. After being forced from his home in a forest fire at the age of 6, he experienced his first taste of hand egg when the townsfolk of N'riv were playing a pickup game while taking shelter from the fire. He was raised to the age of 16 by his parents before being taken in as a Witcher apprentice after his parents met an early and unfortunate demise at the hands of a Djinn's curse. The witcher who took him in then became a father figure to him over the next 5 years during the modification and training process that Geralt endured, and eventually was the person who convinced Geralt to try out this strange hand egg game that he now so greatly enjoys.

College career

Geralt did not really attend a college, much less a university that had a hand egg team. While he did use it in some of his training routines, the real college for Geralt was the magical and physcial modifications that he underwent as part of his training to become a witcher. This training truly heightened Geralt's ability to not only be level-headed in nearly every situation, but his wisdom, speed, agility, raw intellect, and especially his endurance. The trials that he went through tested his body, forced him to recognize patterns and decipher ways around them, and pitted him in frequent fights against fellow apprentices, both with sword and without. This being said, Geralt has always had a tendency to stand towards the back of the fray in any given situation and simply observe before making any move. This has on occasion been a negative trait, as it boils down to overthinking and indecisiveness, but it does prevent him from making too many rash plays.

Professional career

Following a negligent appearance on the field in 2052 with the Portland Pythons that saw Geralt only appear in two games and record no statistics, the budding safety was drafted to the Minnesota Grey Ducks in the offseason. Upon arriving to the Ducks practice facility, he was greeted by all sorts of individuals pleased to see him there. However, Geralt was not the type of person to gallivant about exchanging pleasantries all the time. He was cordial as he could be and never left anyone feeling as though they'd been slighted by him. There were times when he unintentionally came off as cold and was not aware until well after the fact, but the team seemed to like him. He was pretty decent on the field, too. He was certainly not the best safety in the league, as he failed to break even 50 tackles, but was able to record a pick-six and another interception later in the season. It was quite difficult to get into the swing of professional football as opposed to backyard pickup, but Geralt trusted that he would be able to do even better at the professional level in 2054.

In the 2054 ISFL Draft, Geralt was selected with the first pick in the second round by the Austin Copperheads, and was immediately called up to the big leagues. While Geralt did not start right away and had less than 20 tackles 10 games in, he was promoted in the depth chart after game 10 and ended up exploding the remainder of the season. He finished with 3 interceptions, 7 passes defensed, 2 sacks, a forced fumble and recovery, and 48 tackles. While perhaps not the best statistics in the world, these were essentially the same stats he had in the DSFL - and against much better competition. Geralt was very pleased with his performance and his trainings up to that point, and as the season drew to a close, the Copperheads found themselves qualified for a playoff berth. They lost out on a first-round bye and top seed in the ASFC by the 4th tiebreaker Points For, and in the wildcard round, fell to the New Orleans Second Line in what can only be described as a fluke game in which Austin's running backs combined for 25 rushing yards and under 1.25 yards per carry.

In the 2055 season, Geralt quickly earned the trust and respect of the Copperheads coaching staff, and developed the Competitor trait over the offseason as a result of his constant ability to play with both his gut and his head. This, combined with some work on some of his less perfect attributes, allowed him to earn the starting Free Safety position to begin the season, a job that he won and never looked back from. Over the course of the season Geralt suffered a little bit of a recession to his flashy statistics, but had a reduced catch rate, a few more passes defended, and 20 more tackles. He also scored his first touchdown, a 87 yard pick-six off of Baltimore Hawks QB Preston Beatz halfway through the 4th quarter to tie the game at 28 all. Austin would go on to win the game by a score of 35-28, so a more opportune time for Geralt to hit paydirt could not have come. However, an unfortunate first round exit in the playoffs after finishing as the 2 seed would be the fate yet again for Geralt's copperheads, finishing 10-6 only to lose to the 7-8-1 Orange County Otters 20-13 in a game that can only be described as getting simmed.

The 2056 season started off with a massive bang for Geralt, as his first game resulted in a massive game with 5 passes defensed and 5 tackles, with an overall great individual performance both against the run and against the pass. As the season wore on, however, he struggled mightily. A high point was week 5, where he amassed 7 tackles, a sack, forced and recovered a fumble, and defended a pass in a massive win over New Orleans. Week 11 was a low point, however, only registering a single tackle in an overtime loss to New York. The rest of the season was largely uneventful for Geralt, never registering more than a single sack or a single pass defense in a game, and only a few tackles in each game. Finally, in week 15 against New Orleans again, Geralt registered his first interception of the season in trash time, putting an end to the wide speculation that the budding star safety would go the full season without a pick. He ended the game with another average performance against San Jose as Austin won their third straight, but unfortunately the team only ended up with 7 wins on the season despite probably having the best team in the league. 7-9 was not enough to make the playoffs and Austin and Geralt did their best to leave the disappointment behind and move on to the next campaign.
