Walt Green (born January 21, 2009) is an American football safety for the NONE of the National Simulation Football League (X). He played college football for Boise State University (BSU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Walt Green was born in Kuna, Idaho. He didn't play football until high school, before that he played soccer from kindergarten through junior high because his parents were concerned about injuries. During this time playing soccer, Walt played center back for his teams. He learned to read the movement of both the ball and opposing players at the same time. He learned to be aggressive with his body to deflect and break up passes. He also learned to take control of the team calling out teammates to ensure they have their correct assignments as well as giving motivation to persevere through a whole game.

For high school, Walt attended Kuna High. At this time his parents finally agreed to allow Walt to play, making sure he understood the risks associated with football. Growing up in a small town, Walt's high school coach, Coach Bobby, had seen Walt play soccer and felt the skills Walt learned as a center back would transition well as a safety. Once Kuna High had played their first game, both Walt and Coach Bobby knew that was the correct choice, Walt fitted into the safety position naturally. Being a small school, and Walt having good speed, he played both sides of the ball as WR and Safety.

College career

Being from Kuna, Walt didn't attract a lot of attention from many colleges. Of the several schools that he and his coach sent film and letters to, only Boise State and the University of Idaho responded with a desire to meet Walt in person. Being closer to Boise and Moscow, Idaho, and always loving the Blue Field, Walt agreed to attend Boise State University to continue playing safety. Arriving at BSU Walt found himself struggling to stand out against his fellow teammates. This was different from what he was used to. He was used to be a team captain, playing both sides of the ball. Now he was being overshadowed by older and better players. The coaching staff a BSU decided to redshirt Walt his first year and during his Freshman year, he played a backup role. During this time of struggling to get playing time, Walt vowed never to give up and to make sure he was always one of the fastest on the field.

Come spring training of his sophomore year he out-competed a junior and a 4* freshman for the starting safety spot. For the rest of his college career, Walt maintained the starting spot for safety. He considered declaring for the NSFL S14 draft class but believed returning to BSU his senior year was in his best interest to work on his weaknesses. Over the three seasons that Walt played at Boise State University, he played in 36 out of 40 games that included three conference championship games and three bowl games. BSU won the conference championship Walt's junior and senior year. The team did win all three of the bowl games, including a Fiesta Bowl victory. The four games Walt missed were due to concussion concerns his junior year. He finished his college career with 127 solo tackles, 8 interceptions, and 1 Def TD. He was awarded All-Mountain West First Team both Junior and Senior year. He was also nominated as Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year his senior year. He was awarded Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week 5 times during his career.

Professional career

DSFL career

Walt Green declared for the NSFL S15 immediately after winning the Fiesta Bowl his senior year at Boise State. A media interview with Walt was released a few weeks later. In it, Walt explained that with no professional teams in Idaho, his family always cheered for the Portland Pythons and that he thinks it would be awesome to play for Portland during his time in the DSFL. There have been leaks that Walt spoke already with several DSFL GMs about being drafted to their teams. An unconfirmed rumor, Walt expressed zero desire to play for Palm Beach, that Florida is the last place he wants to live.

In "Not Famous Yet S14 DSFL Draft Primer: Draftocalpyse, S14 Issue 1" Walt Green was mentioned as a player not to sleep on and is only a step behind the lead prospects in a deep safety class.
