Wälter Gunther (born August 20, 2031) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks.He played college football for University of Vienna (UVE) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years
Born in Vienna, Austria, Walter Gunther's natural size made him instantly stand out from the other children his age. Physical Education Teachers and coaches immediately saw potential in him to excel in the sporting world. From the age of 6, Walter began training in both Football and Wrestling. Unnaturally quick for his size and remarkably agile, Walter's coaches saw endless paths for him in football but given his wrestling skills as well, they focused him at linebacker. One coach in particular would instill an important philosophy into Walter. The coach took him to a football museum, showing him pictures and videos of the greatest players of all time. The coach told Walter that these men all believed in one thing. That the field is a sacred place and that to participate in the sport is to not only take on their legacies but to also peserve the honour, dignity and respect of the sport. The coach feared that people were forgetting this most important prinicipal and that it would inevitably dilute the sport. The coach made Walter swear that no matter where he played, he would hold the field as a sacred place and play like the legends he had showed him. It was this visit that made Walter take one a simple phrase as his mantra. Das Feld ist Hellig which when translated from german means "The Field is Sacred".
College career
Gunther's natural size, his pressuring abilities and his committment to the sport made him a favourite amongst coaches who were all trying to recruity him to their teams. When it came down to the decision, Walter decided to stay home and play for The University of Vienna Emperors. The Emperors were in serious need of defensive help. They were seen as a highly potent offense team in the european leagues but their defence often let them down significantly. While the european leagues were often known for high scoring games, The Emperors would lose in last minute hail marys far too often for anyone's liking. Starting as a true freshman, the Emperor's believed that Walter would be able to make them a stronger defensive unit and help gain footing for championships. He would not disappoint.
From the moment he arrived on Campus, everyone took notice of him. Not just for his size but from his actions. He was always the first man to walk onto the field in practice and the last man to leave. Same with the gym, the weight room and the class room. This was, in his mind, how he perserved the honour of his sport. This attitude would eventually find followers in the football team who would turn to the true freshman for leadership in practice. While the Emperors had plenty of juniors and seniors on the team, it was the True Freshman Gunther who was in charge of the defense. When games were on, he would lead with his play. Vienna went from one of the most porous defenses in the european leagues to one of the strongest, giving up the fewest amount of points across all 3 seasons Walter played. He would record double digit sacks all three seasons (11, 14.5 and 17 respectively) and over 200 tackles each season and would lead what would come to be known as the Vienna Defense Platoon. This would inspire his nickname, The Ring General, for his ability to lead his men. After three seasons and two championships with Vienna, Walter would declare for the DSFL draft
