Tyron Lyle Brackenridge (born January 26, 2009) is an American football safety for the Kansas City Coyotes of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He played college football for University of Maryland (Maryland) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Tyron Brackenridge was born in Ottawa, Canada on June 26th 2009 and was born to Janelle and Demar Brackenridge. Mother Janelle has been involved within several different sports organizations as a personal trainer and father Demar has been a head coach for the St. Matthew Tigers in Ottawa.

This sports background and the competitive battles between siblings drove Tyron to the football field where he was able to excel from a young age. Tyron initially was on the offensive side of the ball but made the switch to the defensive side in highschool as his father trusted him to be the captain of the defense. 2 out of the 3 seasons he started he was named to the All-Provincial Team and once was named to the All-National team. Throughout his seasons with the St. Matthew Tigers he was labelled as "The Tackle Maestro" as he excelled in fighting through holes and securing open field tackles with ease.

Although his high school stats didn't jump off the page his ability to run a defense and to lead other players was evident. Within his senior season with the St. Matthew Tigers he posted 104 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, and 3 sacks at the linebacker position. Despite receiving numerous offers to play within Canada at various Universities, Tyron chose to take his only offer from an American school to play for the Maryland Terrapins.

Former highschool teammates have been quoted about Tyron's drive to learn and understand the nuances of the American game compared to the Canadian one. Lastly, after his senior season he decided to switch over to the safety position as he felt his skills transitioned better to that position in the American game rather than linebacker.

College career

Tyron Brackenridge attended the University of Maryland for three seasons before declaring for the draft. Tyron also managed to avoid being redshirted his first season as he continued to learn the new rules and playbook and primarily played as a box safety but say more field time towards the end of the season.

Tyron was able to build upon the success of his freshman season and was named the starter, which led to a much more productive season with his highlight of the season coming in their bowl game as he notched 8 tackles, 2 interceptions, and one touchdown.

His junior season was arguably his best season as he became accustomed to the game and leading the defense with all his collegiate career highs coming in his final season with 63 tackles, 3 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, and 2 touchdowns. After much deliberation he decided to declare for the draft even though he could've continued to grow upon his best season yet but he was quoted addressing this by stating, "fuck this. I'm tryna make the big leagues." Although the accolades didn't continue into his collegiate career he was still named to All-American 2nd team in his Junior season and voted as the Most Improved by his teammates in his sophomore season. Lastly, Tyron Brackenridge hopes to be a household name and career starter after his time in the DSFL.

Professional career

Tyron Brackenridge was claimed on waivers by the San Antonio Marshals prior to the prospect draft

Tyron Brackenridge was named to the Season 17 Prospect Bowl on the BlackBirds where he posted stats of 5 tackles.

Tyron entered the Season 16 DSFL draft and was drafted 6th overall by the Kansas City Coyotes

Season 16:

Tyron Brackenridge start off the season on a tear while averaging near 8 tackles per game.

The Coyotes started off slow but were able to have a 8 game win streak, which Tyron played a significant role

The Coyotes ultimately fell short of their dreams for an Ultimini by losing to Portland in the Conference round of playoffs where Tyron had 5 tackles and a sack

Season 17:

Tyron Brackenridge certainly had a sort of break out year in his first professional season in the NSFL with 64 tackles and 6 sacks as a strong safety

Although the team didn't win the Ultimus in aging Hall of Famer Joilet Christ's last season they did make the playoffs

Season 18:

Ultimately this year was a bit of a let down for Tyron Brackenridge as both him and the team regressed.

The team started out the year winless but started to pick it up near the end of the season

With only 43 tackles and 2 sacks it was hard to call this year anything but a failure.

In the offseason he went hard at recruiting and ended up landing two fellow S17 draftees to hopefully turn the ship around

Season 19:

Coming off a disappointing campaign in season 18 the pressure was on Tyron to perform in his contract year. He did not disappoint as this was truly a break out season for Tyron Brackenridge where he set his career high in tackles, thus far, at a whopping 99. Although the team had not performed as well as he hoped they still provided him with the opportunity to switch to the linebacker position where his game was able to truly flourish in a new part of the field. Due to his slower speed at the defensive back position this shift to linebacker seemed both necessary for he and the team. In interviews throughout the season it was obvious that the locker room chemistry has begun to blossom as compared to when he first joined the Sabercats and the rumored trade demands. Tyron's biggest game of the season came in week eleven against the Colorado Yeti where he lead the team in tackles at nine and also netted two sacks on the day truly providing the offense with a plethora of issues. As the season wore on and his play continued to excel and grow the rumors around the league focused on if Tyron Brackenridge would choose to stay with the Sabercats in the offseason or choose to join another team. Teams that were rumored to be in the running for Brackenridge's services included the Chicago Butchers, Philadelphia Liberty, and the San Jose Sabercats that he ultimately stayed with on a 3 year 24 million dollar contract.
