Raylan T-Bone Crowder (born September 6, 2017) is an American football defensive end who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Arizona State (ASU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Raylan Crowder is a proud Kentucky native born and raised in Shelbyville. Son of a Chevy Dealership owner Dewey and School principal Martha, Crowder had a rather easy childhood focussing on sports and driving big trucks.

He attended Shelby County High School where he excelled in baseball, lacrosse and football. During his high school football career he slotted in at Linebacker & Defensive End where he excelled at stuffing the run. On the other side of the ball he would take occasional snaps at Tight end when a big body was needed in the end zone. As a senior Crowder was named state defensive player of the year after racking up 140 tackles, 40 for a loss and 26 sacks. This went alongside 2 catches for 15 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Crowders senior year almost didn't happen. 2 days into the term his car was written off when a truck ran a red light at an intersection. Miraculously he got away with only minor injuries. After the crash Crowder tried to get a nickname to stick, he tried out a couple: Sideswipe, Fallen Angel, Crash and Crush before settling on - T-Bone.

Crowder committed to play college football at Arizona State over offers from Washington, Boise State and Utah.

College career

Used to being the big fish in a small pond Crowder really struggled in his first year at Sun Devil stadium. Having been brought in as a Line backer Crowder was mostly used as a rotational piece and struggled to make an impact. In his 12 games he started 0 made 15 tackles (3 for loss) and registered 1 sack.

In the off-season Crowder changed his diet and training routine putting on a lot of bulk and increasing his power. He turned up to pre season a new man, seeing this the coaches moved him up to Defensive End.

Game 1 of the year was against University of Arizona, Crowder came off the bench early in the first quarter as an injury replacement. His new found power combined lead to him having a career game, doubling his number of tackles in 1 game. Finishing at 16 tackles (4 for loss) 2 forced fumbles (1 recovered) 3 sacks and 1 interception - a feat that he never managed to repeat.

After this introduction to the year Crowder became a cornerstone of the defence. He didn't ever have another game as lucrative as his first but teams would gameplan the fun game away from him and double him up where possible.

The Sun Devils went on to an 11-1 record and took part in the 2037 Lucky Charms Sunbowl. Where they met North Carolina State for the first time since 2017. The Wolfpack once again triumphed over the Sun Devils - with Crowder leaving the field in the second quarter with a minor concussion.
