Rahm "Rough" Kota (born February 9, 2005 ) is an American football offensive linemen who is currently unsigned by a professional team.

Early years

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Rahm grew up in a close family. His father, former college offensive line coach himself, always instilled into Kota the importance of putting others above yourself, to never be afraid to stand up for the little man, or even take the hit. His father pushed him to just be himself and to not worry about what other people think. Rahm went to high school at Klein Collins. Wanting to join something and become a part of something bigger, and wanting to put his father's advice to use, Rahm joined football, which in Texas is as competitive as it gets. After learning the trade and being put at offensive line, Kota excelled despite his smaller frame compared to others around him. His intelligence allowed him to thrive in the trenches allowing him to predict his oppositions next move and counter it. Rated as a low 2-star prospect out of high school, the University of Houston was the only scholarship he received.

College career

As a true freshman, Kota never saw any playing time due to the fact that his coaches didn't believe that they made the right investment, however during spring ball freshman year, he got the attention of the coaches. During drills, Rahm was put up against former Cougar and star NFL player, Ed Oliver. Kota held his own and pushed Oliver off of his path and consistently kept him away from his quarterback. After gaining the eyes of the head coach and athletic director of the university, Kota was put in the starting role the following year. He excelled, breaking the school record for least number of sacks given up in a career at just 10 throughout his 3 years of playing full time. Even through all his success, Rahm was not a high draft prospect due to his under average size, and because of this decided to try his luck in the NSFL.
