Net "The Shark" Gaines (born January 15, 2011) is an American football linebacker/hybrid who is currently unsigned by a professional team. He played college football for Portland State university (psu).


Early years

"Net Gaines was born in California, Orange county where he was raised by his grandparents nickerson and Mary Gaines. He first stepped on a field in middle school where he was so aggressive tackling that he got his famous nickname ""the shark"" and he got recruited to many big high schools. unfortunately he got caught selling weed with his friends and every elite high school pulled there offer accept one. Portland academy where he decided to drive all the way to Portland hoping that Portland academy could bring him into a D1 school. he played 3 years in Portland academy racking up impressive stats (freshman year 110 tackles, 5 taclkes for loss, 1 interceptions) junior year (150 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions) unfortunately he got kicked out his senior year due to selling weed again but since he got such impressive film he got recruited by Portland community college.

Since he got suspended he spent his whole season and offseasons training under a special coach who use to coach from PCC Jake Roberson who played at Penn state before deciding to become a coach. Net also attended many events like the "elite high school bowl" where the best football players in the nation is invited to play and alongside many elite players net was chosen, net recorded 14 tackles in that game but unfortunately suffered a minor ankle injury. At July 1s net was officially ok PCC roster where he attended all the spring games for pcc and stayed for the summer camp. Net on a radio show gaved a personal shootout to coach Jake Roberson saying "I really dont know where I he if it wasnt for him. I was in a terrible place in my life but thanks to Roberson for helping me find my love for football again"

College career

He played one season at Portland Comunity College where he received the #1 ranked juco player in the country racking up 210 tackles and 6 interceptions. despite receiving several big school offers he decided to attend Portland state where he played 2 outstanding seasons. his 1st season as a Portland Viking he racked up 101 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 4 interceptions. his 2nd season he improved with 133 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 6 interceptions. he then got suspended for his 3rd season as a viking due to PEDs and mostly focused on his grades so he can stay a Viking despite not playing his final season he decided to declare early for the 2030 dsfl Draft
