Malik Brooks (born January 2, 2034) is an American football runningback for the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Malik Brooks was born and raised in the New Orleans, Louisiana area. From a very young age, he was a football prodigy, being noticed by colleges far and wide for his ability on the field. He grew up as the son of a retired professional football player, so the athletic genes were always in the family. While growing up, Brooks also played baseball and basketball as playing more than one sport helped to keep him well rounded on and off the field. He is one of 3 kids, and his brother and sister motivate him daily to continue to strive to be the best possible football player he can be day in and out. Malik has always looked forward to playing football at the highest of levels, and will not stop until he accomplishes all of his goals. Keep an eye out for his name as he will be one of the biggest things to ever touch the gridiron!

College career

From a very young age, Brooks always wanted to play at his dream school, Louisiana State University. That was never an option in his household as his father also played there as well. As a true freshman, the coaching staff at LSU knew that Brooks was going to be something special. During that freshman season, Brooks set the single season rushing redord (2,130 yards) and the single season rushing touchdown record (24), which Brooks would go on to break in each subsequent season before entering the DSFL Draft. Through his time at LSU, Brooks was a mentor on and off the field to his friends, helping them both in the classroom, studying the playbook, and in life in general. He always put his best foot forward with his coaches, teachers and friends, and there as no doubt that Brooks would succeed at the highest level. As we have mentioned prior, you will see Brooks' name on the highest of stages.

Season 40: After having joined the league late, Brooks was picked up on waivers by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers, which proved to be a great fit for the services he was able to bring to the table. Through this season, while BBB is a pass first offense, Brooks was still able to be an offensive factor and get involved in games to help the team win in any capacity. Through this season, Brooks placed in the top 4 in total rushing yards, top 3 in total yards per rush (compared to players with over 100 rushing attempts), top 10 in total rushing touchdowns, and most impressively, held all of these stats while having 100-130 less total attempts than the top running backs within the DSFL. Through his contributions, Bondi Beach Buccaneers won the DSFL Championship (the Ultimini) during this season. Brooks is excited to bring his talents back to Bondi Beach for one more season before going pro, and in a most recent interview, Brooks was quoted saying… ‘LETS RUN IT BACK BABY!’

Season 41: Brooks returned to Bondi Beach in 2056 as the lead running back in what promised to be a strong offensive season as the team would be focusing more on the run, rather than the pass. With the added familiarity of the offense, Brooks was excited to start the next season and ready to do his all to bring the Ultimini back to Bondi Beach. Throughout the 2056 season, Brooks was a staple on offense, amassing 1,212 rushing yards on 249 attempts (4.9 YPC) and 12 rushing touchdowns as well as 19 receptions for 144 yards. Overall, a prime offensive season for the second year player, unforinately, Bondi Beach came up a bit short, ending the 2056 campaign with a 6-8 record. Regardless, as a call up to the ISFL is coming shortly, Brooks is looking back on his time with Bondi Beach as a positive experience. He has gained many new skills, grew stronger within his position, and has earned many new life long friends he also happens to call teammates.

Brooks will entre the ISFL in Season 42 as a member of the Colorado Yeti. Shortly after being drafted in the middle of the 4th round to the New Orleans Second Line, Brooks was traded within 24 hours of the draft to the Colorado Yeti, where he will find his new home for atleast the beginning of his ISFL career. This trade was a shock to many as Brooks was the 2nd overall RB in the draft, and New Orleans was in need of depth at the position. Regardless, this is another notch on Brooks' belt, and will take this as a chip on his sholder entering Season 42. Coming off a DSFL Offensive Player of the Year campaign (S41), Brooks is looking to take the ISFL by storm, and has all intentions on bringing the Rookie of the Year trophy home at seasons end. Brooks' introductory press conference in Colordo ended with the statement- "Just watch, the storm is coming."
