Maiteers Rico-Shea (born June 9, 2018) is an American football offensive lineman for the London Royals of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Maiteers Rico-Shea was born to a happy and loving family in Tijuana and ever since he was a child dreamt of playing for the absolutely dominant TIjuana Luchadores. His favorite memory of his childhood came in Season 13 because you see the San Antonio Marshalls who nobody remembers once fancied themselves rivals to the mighty Luchadores after getting an extremely lucky upset in the previous playoffs (then getting blown out in the Ultimini) and then beat the Luchadores 3 times in the regular season of Season 13. The teams' fourth and final meeting in the regular season and the Marshalls were at home looking for the sweep and went up 20-7 in the fourth quarter. However, Tijuana legend Corvo Havran led the Luchadores on a furious comeback to win 21-20.

That set the stage for the teams' first round match up. The Marshalls were getting a big head and were complaining about how lucky that comeback was while the Luchadores knew it wasn't luck. The Marshalls were the #1 overall seed but the Luchadores came to town and absolutely blew their doors off. Corvo Havran opened up the scoring with a touchdown pass just 4 minutes into the game and the Luchadores never looked back. The Marshalls were held to 306 total yards on 63 plays and the Luchadore defense absolutely feasted on the Marshalls' experienced send-down quarterback, nabbing 3 interceptions including 2 from Quandre Favorite, one of which was returned for a touchdown. The beat down was so thorough that early in the 4th quarter the Luchadores put their backup quarterback in the game to show some mercy but even that wasn't enough as he sliced up the Marshalls, too, throwing the final touchdown of a 37-10 win. It was so bad that the Riverwalk actually had to be shut down because the massive deluge of tears in the city was causing the river to flood.

The Luchadores went to Portland next and squeaked out yet another championship to add to their impressive collection.

College career

When the time came, Maiteers Rico-Shea decided to attend the University of Notre Dame for a few reasons. First, his favorite player growing up was Edmond Beaver-Dantes who went to Notre Dame before landing in Tijuana for his DSFL years (and who Rico-Shea thinks was way, way, way better than Bum Ulysses). Second, Notre Dame has a recent reputation for developing and churning out quality offensive linemen. The marriage of these two very nice benefits made the decision pretty easy for Rico-Shea. While at Notre Dame, his best game came against Penn State in a 69-0 blowout where he accrued 17 pancakes and the Fighting Irish rushed for 869 yards as a team, a college football record.

Upon entering DSFL waivers, Maiteers Rico-Shea was betrayed by his hometown team who did not acquire him but rather he joined the London Royals. Rico-Shea hopes to face off against the Luchadores in the Ultimini to show them what they missed out on.
