Both of these things happened in week 1 against the other expansion team, the New York Silberbacks. The team had an expert final drive leading down the field but time ran out and left Karmichael on the 33 yard line to kick the match winning field goal. When asked after the game how sure he was of making the kick Karmichael was quoted as saying "I thought for sure I was going to fuck it up in game one for the rest of the team. But having that go through I'm just happy as a shot fox that I could get it done for the rest of the lads. Full credit to them they put in all the hard work and I just come on at the end and kick through some points after they've put in 110%."

Karmichael Hunt's second season for Berlin was a lot better in general with the side ending up with a record of 7-9. It was a rough start to the start of the season though losing 5 straight to essentially end the season before it began. Karmichael again personally had a good seasons with only missing 2 kicks all season which were both long field goal attempts, but the team was not able to come back from the slow start. Despite winning 7 of the last 11 games it wasn't enough to make the playoffs. Towards the end of the season there was talk about swapping a few players around to see if we could fit the pieces together to help the team more and in that it was decided that Karmichael would position change over to wide receiver. Karmichael Hunt (born August 8, 2014) is an American football kicker for the Berlin Fire Salamanders of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

Karmichael was born in a small town in Central Queensland to a loving mum and dad and 4 older brothers. Growing up in Australia, Karmichael played lots of sport cricket, rugby league, aussie rules and soccer. He earned a scholarship at the Brisbane Broncos and at the age of 18 he made his debut for them.

At the age of 22, he found himself over in America and tried out for a local American football team not really knowing the sport but knowing how to kick a ball. After playing he found himself picked up as an undrafted free agency by the Kansas City Coyotes. Unsure why he wasn't drafted he can only put it down to a lack of any tragic backstory for ESSPN to use due to a lack of his family members dying at the hands of intoxicated drivers."

Brisbane Broncos

Karmichael Hunt pictured in-game for the Brisbane Broncos in 2034.

Hunt's scholarship paid off for the Broncos when he joined the main squad towards the end of the 2031 season, but he didn't play a game for them in that year.

2032

In the 2032 season, Hunt played the pre-season games for the Broncos and after a couple of strong showings, he made his debut at fullback for the Brisbane Broncos in the first round of the NRL against the New Zealand Warriors (pictured). The decision to play Hunt at fullback was a bit of a surprise due to him playing off the bench in the trials. Kalyn Ponga was replaced in the fullback position.

Hunt ended up having a hugely successful first year for the Broncos. Playing every game in the season and finished up being the team's highest try scorer and also winning the Dally M and Brisbane Broncos Rookie of the Year awards. In round 15 against South Sydney, he scored 4 tries which equaled the club record.

2033

At the end of 2032, Hunt signed a contract with the Broncos for an additional two years. However, Hunt didn't get going in his second season like he did his first causing some of the media to bash him for his second-year syndrome. He only missed one game from a concussion and managed to retain the fullback jersey even with the lack of form. He ended up scoring less and returning the ball less in this season compared to his first.

2034

Karmichael Hunt returns the ball in his State of Origin debut for Queensland.

The 2034 season started off much better for Hunt. Seemingly over his form slump, he looked to be playing much more like his rookie year self after spending the offseason doing private training sessions with the NRL's best ever fullback, Darren Lockyer. Part of this was also goalkicking training as he was to take over conversion kicks with the departure of the club's previous kicker.

He had bulked up over the time off and with that came back his kick return style of running as fast as he can back to the defensive line which led many in the media to question how long he could play like this. If he kept it up how much toll would it take on his body? Even with all of this, he kept up the very physical style of play both in attack and defense.

His best game in 2034 was in round 11 against the Newcastle Knights when the Broncos set their club record for biggest victory, winning 81-10. In this game, Hunt scored a hat-trick and set up 4 others and ran for 313 metres including one where he jumped on a wayward pass from Newcastle half Andrew Johns and ran 83 metres. The Courier-Mail called this one of the all-time performances by a fullback and immediately calls were made for him to be in the Origin side.

His return to form and with an injury to the other fullback option earned Hunt his debut for Queensland in the 2034 State of Origin series in game 1. After making a mistake early he was able to shrug it off and played a good debut performance assisting two tries which led the game to end in a tie and in the 4th minute of golden point extra time Hunt managed to grab an intercept from Andrew Johns and run away scoring the try to win the game for Queensland which was remarkably similar to his try one week earlier. After his great performance for Queensland, this let Queensland coach Wayne Bennett come out and call for Hunt to be considered for Australian selection at the end of the year.

In round 14 against the Melbourne Storm Hunt was sidelined for 5 weeks with a hamstring injury that ruled him out of games 2 and 3 of the Origin series. While sidelined Hunt was at the scene of a brawl outside of Lefty's Old Time Music Hall in Brisbane. The media alleged Hunt was responsible for starting the fight. Hunt and the Broncos denied any involvement saying he was just unfortunate to be there at the time. The Broncos though told him they wouldn't be offering another contract and he played the rest of the season out in Queensland Cup, the second-tier rugby league competition in Queensland.

2035

Hunt's first AFL game was in the Suns' debut match in round two of the 2035 season against Carlton. He kicked his first AFL goal on 28 May 2011 against Geelong at Metricon Stadium. One thing Hunt began to become known for was the physical way he played the game with a few crunching tackles and off the ball hits, with one earning him a three-week suspension.

Hunt's promising first season was rewarded by being named on the half-back flank in the Courier Mail 2035 Queensland Team of the Year. He followed this up by winning Gold Coast's inaugural Most Improved Player Award at the club's best and fairest awards on 9 September 2011.

2036

He began his second season poorly, with criticism coming from all over in the media saying he never should have swapped codes and tried his hand at AFL. It didn't help things that the Suns went without a win to start the season. The only bright point in his season was in a round 7 game at Cazaly's Stadium in Cairns in front of 10,961 against Richmond, Hunt broke the club's losing drought with an after siren goal in a two-goal performance which again put him in the club's best.

In the first quarter of round 8 against Hawthorn though Hunt suffered an injury and required a meniscus repair which ruled him out for the rest of the AFL season. The Suns didn't take up the third-year option in his contract after this and he was left as a free agent again.

2038

Karmichael had a much improved second season in the DSFL. Over the season he improved his percentages in both field goals and extra points only missing one extra point over the whole season on twenty nine attempts. Another improvement was his power which showed off towards the end of the season and his kick long was extended out to 52 yards. This improvement all around in his game was shown out when he came second in the voting for Kicker of the Year. He started out the season punting but those responsibilities were soon moved on to another player so he could focus just on kicking.

The highlight of Karmichael's season came in week 4 winning the Coyotes offensive player of the week in a four from four field goal, three of three extra point performance in a comfortable 33-6 win over the Luchadores.

The season itself was going great as Kansas was flying well until 4 weeks out from the playoffs where they hit a road bump losing their last four games and just scraping into a home conference game against London. Winning that they were into the final game of the season and sizeable underdogs up against the Norfolk Seawolves who were just to good on the day taking out the Ultimini.

Not the greatest way to end his time at the Coyotes but after the season Karmichael has been called up to take his place with the Philadelphia Liberty. Taking up his player option he will be there next season and hope to keep improving on his numbers forever chasing a perfect season off the boot.

2039

Karmichael started out well with his new team. Played 4 preseason games without missing a kick between nine extra points and five field goals with a long of 54 yads. Also pinning the opposition inside the 20 eight times over 30 attempts. The season started well for Karmichael personally kicking a 54 yard field goal against the Yellowknife Wraiths which was a personal long for him.

After this the season just got worse and worse until at one point the Liberty were 0-9. Game 10 against the Copperheads though was probably the teams and certainly Karmichael's best performance kicking 2/2 XPs and 3/3 FGs including a 57 yarder in what ended up being a thrilling win in overtime with a walkoff touchdown.

Only two games later did Karmichael fulfil one of his lifes dreams - kicking a walkoff field goal which also game in overtime. What a way to help your team get their second win. When Karmichael was asked about it he was quoted as saying "Thank fuck I didn't choke."

For the last game of the season when all hope of playoffs was gone the Liberty decided to try something a little different. Karmichael spent the week leading up to it practicing and getting training snaps at QB but when it came to game time there was never the right situation to use him at QB.

Two points of pride for Karmichael to finish the season with was the season long field goal at 57 yards and also lead the league in inside 20s comfortably with 26.

2040

In the off season after S24 Karmichael was drafted by the Berlin Fire Salamanders in the S25 International Simulation Football League expansion draft. Leaving the Philadelphia Liberty was never apart of the plan but he found himself in Berlin and fit in with the rest of the team very quickly.
