Early years
Out of São Paulo, the biggest city of Brazil and 10th in the world, the 6'2 - 240lb linebacker came and will now conquer. Just recently drafted for DSFL's San Antonio Marshals for the playoffs, where he will try to put up some numbers to attract NSFL eyes, the same way he did with LSU scout team who watch him play in the sands of Rio de Janeiro and decided to give him a chance, where he fell happy for the schorlarship and amazed to play the 'American' Football.
For him who used to play in the sand had no problem with the grass, and at LSU he developed like a monster. All of course with the collaboration of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, that he practices since childhood, and stands out every game when he put bigger and strongers players to the ground like little girls. ""It's all about the tecnique!"" - J-Lo says. He's a fun guy, wears #51 cause of the famous Brazilian drink, the cachaça - used on world famous Caipirinhas! (51 its the most famous brand of cachaça) Also ""J-Lo"" that was nicknamed in the sands of Rio, clearly because his crush on the famale singer, the similar abbreviation word play. But mostly because what most ppl dont know is that J-Lo in Brazil sounds like ""GELO"" which in Portuguese means ICE, which is what most of his opponents need after finding who Junior Lopez is.
College career
LSU was his first contact with shoulder pads and football cleats, he wore soccer ones, wich took him some time to get used to it. Since day one he lived to the fullest of football: he turned sleepless nights into game film nights, after traning hours into more training hours, every single minute without class was football time. He never has contact with so much football cuture, so he was trying to absorve the most of it. A strong outside linebacker throughout his college career, Lopez was known for raising his level of play in big games. He was regarded as all around beast great speed, great tackle tecnique and getting stronger each and every year. Lopez enrolled in Louisiana State University, and played for coach Les Miles's LSU Tigers football team.First season he had 15 tackles. The next he had 61 tackles and one sack. He had five tackles and a sack in the BCS Championship Game.
In addition to his athletic accomplishments, J-Lo was a good student, graduating a year early and thus becoming eligible for the DSFL's draft.
