Joey Battle (born October 10, 2036) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Oklahoma (OU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Joey Battle was born into a Reform Jewish family in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father passed away early in his childhood and his mother raised him and his two brothers. He used football as a way to overcome the tough living situation and excelled leading his team in high school. Because he could not afford tuition and he was such a large size at an early age, he worked as a club bouncer since high school to help pay for his tuition. He was an all-state linebacker leading the state in sacks, tackles and forced fumbles in his senior year. He gained nation-wide media coverage when he had a monster game in the state finals tallying 10 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 sacks to help shut down his opponents and go perfect in a magical senior season. He was voted the player of the game in the finals along with the Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

College career

Coming in as a four star high school prospect, he had 32 division I programs offering him a full ride scholarship. However, as he wanted to stay home with his family he accepted the offer to attend at the University of Oklahoma. He grew up idolizing Brian Bosworth and drew his play copying his very moves. However, his dreams of every playing for the team went awry when as working as a bouncer he was caught up in a scuffle with a rival kicker that left 2 guests dead. Even though Joey had acted in self-defense and did his best to protect the patrons, the judges sent him to four years behind bars. As part of his sentence, he was kicked off the team before he played a single down and joins the DSFL without ever having played a down in college. He still considers himself to be a Sooner even though he has officially been enrolled in the school for 2 weeks before he was let go.
