==Early years==

James Brown was born in Orange County, California, born to Chicago Bears linebacker Donald Brown and spouse Teresa Brown. At an early age, Brown moved to Santa Ana, where he grew up throughout his childhood and high school years. At the age of 5, Brown was exposed to the world of sports, where he learned both his parents were active participators in football and softball, where his father Donald played 13 seasons for the Chicago Bears before calling it quits, and his mother Teresa played softball throughout high school and college, respectively.

Growing up, Brown learned the basics of football and played with his father on their lawn of their million dollar house in Santa Ana. His mother, rejecting the idea of him playing football due to severe injuries cause by the sport, taught him other sports such as baseball and basketball, and even a stint of tennis, in hopes he stray from his father's footsteps and play something other than football.

In high school, Brown played baseball his freshman and sophomore year, along with wrestling, cross country, and track and field. In his junior year, he played football after a recommendation from Coach Pedroza to join the team. He was put as a wide receiver  due to his speed, and eventually was transitioned into quarterback, and then again into powerback to help the backfield. In his senior year of high school, Brown was transitioned to outside linebacker, where he worked as a 3-4 defensive end and set records for the school. He was recruited out of high school to play for the N.C. State Wolfpack.

==College career==

James Brown played at N.C. State, as part of the Wolfpack, where he played from 2016 to 2019, as a outside linebacker and defensive tackle.

As a true freshman, Brown played as a 4-3 outside linebacker under coach Philip Rivers, where he recorded 10 sacks, 35 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 6 pass deflections, and 3 forced fumbles.

In his sophomore season, Brown was switched to defensive tackle as a replacement for their prospect defensive tackle John Staubach, who tore his ACL during team practice. As a DT, Brown found he excelled at this position and set records across the board, recording 20 sacks, 56 tackles, 45 tackles for loss, 5 forced fumbles, 1 fumble return for a touchdown and 2 interceptions.

Brown's junior and senior years found the same type of production, with Brown sacking the quarterback 18 times, tackling 40 times, tackling for a loss 30 times, forcing fumbles 3 times his junior year. His senior year saw Brown gain 19 sacks, 38 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 2 forced fumbles. He won the Heisman trophy his junior and senior year.

<!-- [[Image:##FILENAME##|thumb|##IMAGE_CAPTION##]] -->The summary text goes here... Use {{TeamYearShort|##ABBREV##|##SEASON_NUMBER##}} to link to a specific season page for a specific team. If you need to link to the season page for the league in general, use {{nsfly|##SEASON_NUMBER##}}. Other links can be created as and when you want them. It's not a big deal.

But yeah, summarise each season in this bit. Just a quick overview. Nothing too in-depth. If something major happened, like the multi scandal, or the incorrect TPE stuff, it's probably worth having a separate article for those kinds of things.
