Jake Jefferson (born March 18, 2034) is an American football quarterback  for the Kansas City Coyotes of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years
Jake Jefferson was born in El Paso, Texas, and grew up in the area close to family. As a youth, Jefferson was always an athletic student and excelled at both football and baseball, playing quarterback for his team as well as outfield. An only child, a lot of his early athletic accomplishments were around his family and he developed a close bond with his parents. He attended the local school, Austin High, and continued his development as the team's quarterback. Jefferson was known mostly as an important piece of a run-first school that made good use of the option playbooks, but he was able to throw the ball well when he had to. His time as the Austin High School signal-caller ultimately culminated in a run to the state finals in his senior year that fell just short, but he put together an excellent season to bolster his profile. Several schools recruited Jefferson, but his dream school was always Texas A&M and he grew up an Aggies fan. Georgia Tech and Oklahoma were both schools that had seen some success with mobile quarterbacks, but in the end the Aggies ultimately came calling and Jefferson signed on to play for his childhood team.

College career
Jefferson attended Texas A&M University and majored in history. Jefferson's time with the Aggies saw him round out his skill set into becoming a more pro-ready quarterback than he was when he entered. As a freshman, he began his first college season largely on the bench as the coaches worked to round out his mechanics. While his natural rushing talent couldn't be denied, the coaches wanted to get him to be more comfortable in the pocket and working on going through his progressions, as he had a tendency to rely on his feet too much in high school. Jefferson was named the starter as a sophomore and quickly excelled as a dual threat, helping to lead his team to an appearance in the SEC Championship and beginning to get some hype for the DSFL draft as a player with a unique skill set to watch out for. His junior season didn't see the same team success as the prior year, but Jefferson did show some improvement in his passing numbers, elevating his yards and touchdowns while throwing fewer picks than the year before. After the season ended, Jefferson announced as expected that he would forgo his senior season and enter the DSFL draft.

DSFL career
Jefferson was seen as a flier prospect going into the S40 DSFL draft, and with teams mostly having their QB situation set Jefferson fell in the draft, ultimately being selected 88th overall by the Kansas City Coyotes. The season began with Jefferson as the backup quarterback behind incumbent Mathias Mayhem, and was mostly used on short-yardage situations and gadget plays. His breakout game would come in Week 8 against the London Royals as he threw for 128 yards and a touchdown while also adding 101 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, capped off by a 70-yard sprint late in the first half. Jefferson started out as solely a situational player but was gradually integrated more into the offense, and his biggest contributions to the team during his rookie season came on the ground, as his three rushing touchdowns and solid consistency with his legs left him around the 15th spot for rushing yards on the season - essentially the team's second running back behind star rookie Eilliot Berry.
