Jackson Ace Kingston (born November 1, 2016) was an American football wide receiver for the Sarasota Sailfish of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

Jackson Kingston was born in Havana, Cuba, on November 1, 2016. Throughout his young life, he grew up poor in the Cuban streets. Because of his great size, he was encouraged to pursue a career in baseball, like many other Cubans have done. However, Kingston always enjoyed football from early on. His parents supported his pursual of football, and when Kingston turned 14, he was sent to live with a rich uncle who resided in Miami, Florida. He was originally intending to attend a public high school, but during a summer camp, scouts from the renowned IMG academy took an interest in him. They were impressed by his size and ball skills. Kingston was promptly offered admission at the school, where he enrolled for his freshman year. However, Jackson was not ready to play competitive football against some of the best teams in the nations, and spent the first two years of his experience on the bench. He slowly lost interest in the sport, almost quitting to focus on class, but then he received word that his father was deathly ill back home. This was the motivation "Ace" needed, as he dedicated the rest of the summer to getting into football shape. He slimmed down from 240 to 220 pounds, and improved his footwork greatly. He promptly started at wide receiver the next two seasons, part of a national championship team in 2033.

College career

Kingston originally was listed as a 3-star recruit, and received various offers from P5 schools, before eventually settling on UCF, a school relatively near his hometown. However, before his freshman season, he was arrested for drug possession and public intoxication. His scholarship was revoked, and he instead enrolled at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to play JuCo football. He was placed on probation his freshman year, and was unable to play football. In his sophomore year, Kingston came out of the gate ready to go and rejuvenated. He was on track to graduate with a degree in sports medicine, and he came back in better shape than ever before. His talent dominated opposing defenses, as the Bulldogs blitzed to a 12-0 record and the NJCAA championship. Kingston was a leading part of these efforts, recording 1044 receiving yards in 10 games. He graduated with a 3.8 GPA on the academic honor roll. The following offseason, he transferred to Louisiana Lafayette to continue his football career. He showed out in training camp and the offseason workouts. However, six games into his junior season, he tore his MCL, and missed the rest of the season. He finished with 448 yards. At this point, he contemplated staying at Louisiana Lafayette, before declaring for the DSFL draft, seeing it as his last opportunity to play professional football with his repaired reputation.

Tijuana Luchadores

Jackson Kingston was selected by the Tijuana Luchadores in the 2037 DSFL Draft (S22) in round 5, at pick 36.

2037 season

The 2037 (S22) season was disappointing for Jackson Kingston. While his own team, the Tijuana Luchadores had a very successful year, Kingston was used sparingly within the Luchadores gameplan. He only recorded 40 catches all year, only 5 more than his redshirt sophomore season with the Louisiana Rajin' Cajuns. From the start of the season, it was clear that he had lost a step or two following his torn MCL.

In the first five weeks of the season, Kingston recorded only 121 yards on 14 catches, with no touchdowns. Following an unproductive week 5, where the Luchadores dominated the Birddogs, but Kingston was limited to 30 yards, he yelled out in frustration during the following film study. Kingston felt like he wasn't contributing to his team's success, and he wanted to do more for the team. He would receive this opportunity next week against the Coyotes. The game started off disappointing for both the Luchadores and Kingston, falling into a 17-7 rut at halftime. Kingston exclaimed to Luchadores quarterback Jim Waters, "I need this. Look for me man, I'm open all day."

The Luchadores mounted a comeback, with and shaved the lead down to 4 points with seven minutes left on the clock. The Luchadores mounted a solid drive, finding their way to the Coyotes 10 yard line with just three minutes left. However, after a minimal gain on first down, a spike to stop the clock on second, and a penalty followed by an incompletion, the Luchadores were against the wall with 4th and 14 to win the game. The next play, Jim Waters received the snap. It was a slant route, and Kingston had his man beat. Waters rolled left, found Kingston open in the end zone, and delivered. Kingston caught the ball and the Luchadores won the game.

The next few weeks, Kingston was limited on the field, with just twelve catches in the next six games. However, in the final two weeks of the year, with the Luchadores playoff berth clinched, Kingston broke out, with 10 catches and 134 yards combined. He finished the regular season with 428 yards, 40 catches, and three touchdowns. However, this success did not translate to the playoffs, where the Luchadores won Ultimini XX, but Kingston was held to just 32 yards and 3 catches in the two games the Luchadores played.

Colorado Yeti

Jackson Kingston was selected by the Colorado Yeti in the 2038 ISFL Draft (S23) in round 3, at pick 26. Immediately following the draft, it was made known public that the Yeti would call up Kingston from the DSFL immediately. The very same day, Jackson Kingston signed his rookie contract, paying him at least $10,000,000 over three years, with the possibility for incentives up to $2,000,000. It marked one of the first deals completed by Kingston's agent, TubbyTim69.

2038 season

The 2038 (S23) season was a transition year for Jackson Kingston. Kingston made the transition from the DSFL and NSFL and played all 16 games for the Yeti.

Being a rookie with only one season of DSFL experience, early on the season Kingston looked at times overwhelmed, not in sync with quarterback Wolfie McDummy, or just slow out of the gate. Through the first seven games of the season, Kingston only caught six passes while he did not see the field very much. While understanding he was just a rookie and these growing pains were expected, Kingston's frustration grew. After two more duds in Week 8 and 9, where the Yeti lost to Austin and Honolulu while only scoring 19 points in the process, Kingston was eager to make an impact.

Week 10 saw the Yeti host the Arizona Outlaws. Kingston had a season high six receptions and 51 yards while the Yeti battled the Outlaws. In the fourth quarter, Kingston torched his man, Zamir Kehla, on a double move, where Wolfie McDummy found him in the end zone for the game sealing touchdown. Kingston built off this success, with 19 catches in the six ensuing games, as the Yeti secured a playoff berth for the seventh consecutive season, finishing behind the Yellowknife Wraiths.

After handling the Philadelphia Liberty at home, where Kingston recorded 55 receiving yards, the Yeti met their end of the season on the road in Yellowknife, who went on to win the Ultimus. After an up and down rookie year, Kingston looks to improve his craft all offseason.

2039 season

In 2039 (S24), Jackson Kingston doubled his yard production as he saw his best campaign to date.

Taking on an increased role with wide receivers Red Arrow and James Bishop retired, Kingston burst onto the scene with more than 50 yards per game. Not only did he put up increased volume, but he was much more efficient as well, seeing a Y/R increase of almost 3 yards per reception. After spending a full year in the Yeti system, the talent that convinced the Colorado Yeti to use a third round pick on finally showed.

However, week by week, Kingston's ceiling remained low, due to a snap limit as Yeti doctors were managing his workload and his previously torn MCL. Kingston never amassed 100 yards in a single game, despite his overall numbers improving. As a team the Yeti offense thrived, scoring the most points in the league as fellow teammate Wolfie McDummy rose to an MVP candidate in his second to last season. The Yeti rattled off nine straight wins to end the season, and the team was looking like the clear favorites to secure the Ultimus trophy.

The second round of the playoffs saw the Yeti take on the Sarasota Sailfish. While Kingston only recorded one catch, that one catch was a crucial play, keeping a Yeti drive moving on a 3rd and 20 conversion, where they finished with a touchdown. This catch could have very well been the difference in a 4 point game. In the Ultimus, the Yeti offense fell flat, scoring a total of 12 points. Despite that, Kingston led the team in receiving yards with a respectable 51.

New York Silverbacks

In the 2039 (S24) offseason, the Colorado Yeti left Jackson Kingston unprotected in the 2040 ISFL Expansion Draft. Kingston drew interest immediately from both expansion squads, the Silverbacks and rival Berlin Fire Salamanders. However, with the expansion draft looming, Kingston seemed most likely to be selected by the Silverbacks. With selection number four in the draft, the Silverbacks selected Kingston to catch passes from recently acquired Sam Howitzer, establishing a powerful duo for seasons to come. Later in the offseason, Kingston signed a three year extension to keep him in town through at least 2041 (S26).

2040 season

When Jackson Kingston arrived in New York, he had been selected in expansion and was set to create a formidable duo with rookie quarterback Sam Howitzer. In his first season in the Big Apple, Kingston shined with Howitzer, having by far the best season of his career to date in many metrics, including receptions, receiving yards, touchdowns, and more. While the Silverbacks struggled as a team throughout, going winless in the first half of the season, eventually they turned it around and won 4 games before the season's end. With the conclusion of the season, Jackson Kingston was named Breakout Player of the Year for the strides he made from the Colorado Yeti offense to the expanded role in New York. In addition, his 15 touchdowns were tied for the league's best as he earned his first career Pro Bowl nod. With the team finishing strong and emerging weapons on offense like Kingston, the Silverbacks had much to look forward to going into 2041 (S26).

2041 season

The following season saw a much stronger team performance from the Silverbacks, jumping from a 4-12 record from the season before to a 9-7 record. Kingston set another personal record for receiving yards that season, eclipsing his 1311 mark from the past season by 36 yards, for 1347 yards on the season. Propelled by another strong second half performance, where the Silverbacks finished the year winning 6 of their last 8 games, the New York Silverbacks were able to clinch the top seed in the ASFC. However, due to a technicality in the tiebreakers, despite being the top seed in the ASFC and receiving a first round bye, the Silverbacks were to travel to New Orleans where they would suffer a narrow defeat at the hands of the Second Line, losing 37-43 in overtime. While the Silverbacks' playoff run ended prematurely and was a disappointment to cap off what was overall an excellent season, the Silverbacks held their heads high moving into their third season in existence. The squad finished two games better than their expansion rival counterparts, the Berlin Fire Salamanders, who finished the season 7-9 and a game out from securing a playoff birth.

2042 season

The 2042 (S27) season saw Kingston set yet another career high in single season receiving yards, as he had done so for the previous five seasons. This campaign, Kingston recorded a total of 1518 receiving yards and 114 receptions. The increase in volume was partly due to Silverbacks' former Offensive Player of the Year recipient Ashley Owens' diminished productivity, as the aging running back was no longer capable of leading the Silverbacks' offense, prompting the free agency acquisition of Captain Rogers. Although Kingston's receiving productivity was arguably at an all-time high, it was another facet of his game that earned him award recognition: his returning prowess. Jackson Kingston got off to a red-hot start to the season in the returning department, securing two punt returning touchdowns in the first three games of the season. Kingston had previously been relegated only to kick returning duties, but the regression of Ashley Owens opened an opportunity for Kingston, which he seized in stride. The Silverbacks started the season off strong, jumping out to a 7-4 record with five games to go. However, a rough spell saw them drop those last five games, knocking the squad out of playoff contention for good. At the conclusion of the regular season, Kingston secured his third consecutive pro bowl selection. Additionally, he was named the 2042 (S27) Returner of the Year for his excellence in the returning game.

2043 season

The Silverbacks sought to regain their playoff status entering the 2043 (S28) season. The team started off the season with ups and downs, winning their opener against the Orange County Otters, and from that point on, they alternated wins and losses for the next six weeks. However, the Silverbacks seemingly hit their stride in a week 8 home matchup against the Colorado Yeti, which they won 23-19. From there, the Silverbacks reeled off four more consecutive wins, leaving the squad in prime playoff position with a 9-3 record. At this point during the season, the New York Silverbacks made the trade acquisition of Tugg Speedman from the rival San Jose Sabercats, paying a premium price for the young wide receiver. In the short term, the move did little to move the needle for the squad, dropping three of their last four. The move was clearly oriented more towards the future, where Speedman would eventually serve as the replacement for an aging Kingston as the primary wide receiver in the offense. Finishing the season with a 10-6 record, the Silverbacks entered the playoffs with high hopes. However, those high hopes were vanquished by the Austin Copperheads in a close 21-18 loss that saw the Silverbacks concede 21 unanswered points, with no points in over two quarters for the offense. Kingston's individual performance was a disappointment, as for the first time in his career, he did not set a personal best for single season receiving yards. Additionally, Kingston failed to earn a Pro Bowl selection for the first time since 2039 (S24), ending his three season streak.

2048 season

Jackson Kingston's 2048 season saw himself take a diminished yet still prominent role in the Sailfish offense. With fellow teammate Saleem Spence usurping his role as the primary receiver in the Sailfish offense, Kingston was able to continue to put up productive numbers, but overall he saw a hit in receiving volume. However, Kingston made the most of his returning opportunities, scoring a punt return touchdown early on the season en route to his seventh pro bowl selection, this time as a returner. As Kingston assimilated to his new role, the Sailfish had great regular season success, finishing with twelve wins and four losses in the regular season as the Sailfish claimed the top seed in the NSFC. However, Kingston and company were unable to translate this regular season success into a fruitful playoff run as the Sailfish were eliminated from the playoffs in the conference championships by the eventual champions, the Baltimore Hawks, losing 30-24 on home turf.
