Hengwei Luo (born September 9, 1994) is an American football safety who is currently unsigned by a professional team. He played college football for University of Auckland/Florida Atlantic (FAU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Hengwei Luo was born 2nd child to Tui and Suo Luo in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Tui a New Zealand native and Suo a Malaysia native only had 2 children Hengwei and Aima. Hengwei was a proverbial golden child and didn't take any time at all to out shine his sister Aima showing promise in academics and so much promise in athletics that he qualified and competed in the 2012 summer olympics. In badminton and multiple swimming events, the 100 butterfly, 500 meter freestyle, and the 400 individual medley race. Hengwei failed to medal in any of his swimming events. Hengwei did win gold in badminton to cement himself into history, bringing Malaysia's first olympic gold medal home. Propeling himself to be a national hero,to only ruin everything and shame his family and country months later as he left his country to evade his countries mandatory military service. He escaped to his mother's native country of New Zealand.

College career

Hengwei attended the prestigious University of Auckland in Auckland New Zealand, where he played fullback on their rugby team. He was an outstanding defensiveman that played with intensity like no other player. His intelligence of the game glared through his play with his fundementals always having the right angle and consisently making form tackles. His athleticisim was undeniable on the rugby field as it was in the pool or on the badminton court. After graduating he went on to play rugby professionally for the chiefs, accelling at the professional level the All Blacks called him up for the 2016 World Cup. He played a pivotal role in the All Blacks win of the 2016 World cup. Making key tackles and scoring a try. After his World Cup win he moved to America and attended Florida Atlantic Med School. After Florida Atlantic instead of choosing a residency Hengwei chose to declare for the draft in the NSFL.
