Hariff Ernston (born November 5, 1995) is a retired American football linebacker who played for the Arizona Outlaws for his whole career in the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He played college football for Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and USC before being drafted by the Arizona Outlaws with the 79th overall pick in the 2016 ISFL Draft (S1). Ernston holds numerous career records for the Outlawsand has 4 Pro Bowl Awards and one Defensive Player of the Year award. He was part of the first three-peat with the Outlaws and is one of the greatest linebackers in NSFL history.

Arizona Outlaws
With a large player pool available in the draft, many spots to fill and inconclusive scouting the inaugural draft was a shot in the dark for many teams. Ernston was able to impress scouts with a 38 vertical jump, that was also good for the third best result of the whole combine. In the end, Ernston was drafted to the Arizona Outlaws with the 79th overall pick. During the first ever season of the NSFL the Arizona Outlawsfinished with a record of 9-5, tied with the Orange County Otters for first in the ASFC. The Outlaws blew out the Otters in the ASFC Championship Game, before going to the Ultimus to face the Colorado Yeti. They would blow out the Yeti in the first Ultimus Bowl as well, and were crowned the first ever champions of the NSFL. Ernston had a great first season with 85 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and fumble recoveries, 12 sacks and give passes defended and earned his first Pro Bowl award.
2017 (S2) saw the addition of two new expansion teams to the league, but the defending champions came out pretty unscathed. The Outlaws saw little competition during the season as they put together both the number one offense and defense and earned the top ASFC spot. Orange County Otters would play a tight game in the conference championship game, but Arizona Outlaws would win and steam roll over the Baltimore Hawks in the Ultimus, routing them 33-6. Ernston would keep up his great play racking up 110 tackles, 7 TFL, 16 sacks and 5 interceptions, and adding his second straight Pro Bowl award. In 2018 (S3) Arizona was in a league of their own blowing through the NSFL, almost going undefeated with their only blemish being an overtime loss to the Baltimore Hawks. In the playoffs they would toss aside the Orange County Otters and setup a rematch against Baltimore Hawks, where they would not only beat them, but down right embarrass them, winning 49-12 and earning their third straight Ultimus Championship. Ernston would have similar numbers to previous seasons but would not be voted to a third straight Pro Bowl.
The 2019 (S4) season had the Outlaws go 12-2 in the regular season and be the top seed for the ASFC. Things wouldn't go as planned though as they would end losing to the Orange County Otters in the ASFC Championship game. Ernston would try and play his part, posting great stats especially in sacks and passes defended. For the first time, the Arizona Outlaws would not be the 1st seed in the ASFC, in the 2020 (S5) season as they went 8-6 and lose to the Orange County Otters in the ASFC Championship game. Ernston would do his all to help the Outlaws as he had the best season of his whole career, with triple digit tackles and double digit TFL, sacks and passes defendedn. Ernston would end up winning his only Defensive Player of the Year award.
The 2021 (S6) season was a let down for the Arizona Outlaws and Ernston as they would go 8-6 in the regular season but miss out on the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Ernston's play and stats would not be at the same level and he would not be able to help his team as much as he hoped. 2022 (S7) would be a weird season for the Arizona Outlaws as they would have their worst regular season record in their franchise history, of 5-9 but through some miracle still make the playoffs. They had no chance in the ASFC Championship game, losing to the 12-2 Orange County Otters. Ernston could not be faulted for his effort as he racked up 17 sacks and 16 passes defended, which are both single season records for him.
The 2023 (S8) season was another dissapointment for the Arizona Outlaws as they again finished with a 5-9 record and missed the playoffs. Ernston continued his stellar play again contributing across different statistics, a highlight being his 6 tackles for loss. The 2024 (S9) season would end up being Ernstons last season as the Arizona Outlaws would struggle to 3 wins in the regualr season. Ernston tried to help his young team as much as he could and put up a decent statistical season. Hariff Ernston was inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2027.
