Grayson Kuusela (born January 17, 1996) is an American football defensive lineman for the San Antonio Marshals of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Ohio University (Ohio) before being drafted by the San Antonio Marshals in the DSFL SS11.

Early years

Grayson Kuusela was born to Finnish immigrants in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. He attended St. Francis DeSales High School and was a varsity letter winner all 4 years of his time there. Kuusela wasn't always a football player, having grown up playing soccer. Kuusela's success on the pitch came from his explosive speed and agility, a trait that has helped him transition into becoming a dominant defensive lineman. Grayson received 11 offers coming out of high school, although none from any Power 5 Conference schools.

College career

After receiving offers from several MAC schools, Kuusela opted to attend Ohio University due to its relative closeness to Columbus, allowing him to stay within a reasonable distance from his parents. He also stated that he was excited to play for a coach like Frank Solich, citing his ability to develop overlooked players like Kuusela into championship caliber players. Kuusela started 6 games his freshman season, recording 3.5 sacks and 23 tackles. In his sophomore season, Kuusela started 9 games and recorded 4.5 sacks as well as 32 tackles. In his final season with the Bobcats before declaring for the DSFL draft, Kuusela started all 13 games and had 11.5 sacks, 53 tackles, and an interception. He helped lead the Bobcats to a 28-3 win over the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers in the Bahamas Bowl.
