Career highlights and awards

Edmond Beaver-Dantes (born January 9, 2003) is an American football offensive line for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for University of Notre Dame (ND) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season. Known for his immense size, elite strength, and penchant for violent, petty revenge, he is viewed by NSFL and DSFL scouts as a raw, "toolsy" prospect that they can mold into one of the all-time great offensive linemen in league history. Every scouting service has him ranked above Brave "Bum" Ulysses which should be obvious to anyone who's seen them both play.

Early years

Born in Nairobi to Louis Dantes and Brenda Beaver, Edmond had an exciting childhood in the bustling metropolis. Louis and Brenda both worked in the shipping industry and as they rose the ranks they were spending more and more time away from home so they decided to send young Edmond off to the world-renowned Bovo Meme Academy to further his studies. A large but unassuming young man, Edmond excelled in athletics at the Academy but had little to no interest in academics and frequently teetered on the edge of flunking out until Grade 10 when he began instruction in Physics under Master Faria. The two were fast friends and Faria quickly took to the role of mentor for young Edmond and taught him a great many things across several subjects - from Chemistry to foreign languages, from Philosophy to Biology. Edmond's marks immediately improved and more importantly he gained a thirst for knowledge, no longer simply committing the bare minimum to memory long enough to pass an exam. As his mentor liked to say, "To learn is not to know; there are the learners and the learned. Memory makes the one, philosophy the other."

Soon after his rapid transformation into a model student, Edmond met another man who would have an outsized influence on his life. Growing up in Nairobi he had never really gave American Football much thought, preferring to spend his athletic time playing basketball and soccer, but when one of the co-owners of the Academy came for a visit and an American Football scrimmage was arranged Edmond was enamored with the violence and subtlety of the sport. Just before his final year at the Academy began his parents tragically disappeared when a ship they were aboard capsized in a freak storm and were presumed dead. Edmond's unfocused anger threatened to undermine his academic progress and he needed an outlet. After the game, Edmond met Blackford Oakes and wanted to know everything about the sport. Oakes spent a lot of time covering the basics with Edmond, whose size and strength made up for a lot of his lack of technique, and gave a heads-up to his alma mater about the offensive lineman. Notre Dame sent a scout to meet with Edmond during his senior year at the Academy and offered him a scholarship. Edmond had never really considered moving to America, figuring he would continue his studies at an English or Swiss university, but all it took was one campus visit to get Edmond to commit.

College career

At Notre Dame, Edmond had access to facilities and coaching that far surpassed anything he had experienced in his short football career. He served as a back-up his freshman season, coming into the game as an injury replacement or if the situation called for a heavy formation, while the coaching staff worked overtime trying to hone his technique to match his raw physicality. He got his first start against Southern Cal in the final game of the season when the team's right guard tweaked his knee in practice. All of the hard work and practice paid off as the Irish gashed the Trojans on the ground, finishing the game with 49:44 minutes of possession en route to a blowout win. Edmond played a large role in that, using his strength and acceleration to execute combo blocks to perfection and keeping USC linebackers away from the ball carrier.

His career did not always live up to the high of his first start but he showed flashes. The next two seasons were characterized by moments of brilliance marred by bone-headed penalties and the better defensive linemen in college football could sometimes take advantage of his poor technique. He played right tackle his sophomore season where he allowed several sacks. He was moved to left tackle for his junior season despite his penchant for run blocking and excelled given the opportunity. Taking one-on-one match-ups game in and game out as the rest of the line shifted right, Edmond didn't have a single sack attributed to him that season. A lot of this was luck and circumstance, as the offense was designed for runs and short passes, but was impressive nonetheless. After receiving his diploma that spring, graduating in three years thanks to constant communication with and aid from Faria, Edmond declared for the Season 14 DSFL draft.
