Douglas Quaid (born December 29, 2013) is an American football linebacker for the Norfolk Seawolves of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Utah State and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Quaid didn't start playing organized football until his sophomore year of high school. He picked up the game quickly and started to receive interest from D1 schools during his junior season. His playing time was split between defensive end and linebacker. As a junior it was evident he was a D1 level prospect, he was significantly bigger, stronger, and more athletic than just about everybody on the field. He became almost impossible to block. His go to moves were power rushes against smaller blockers and speed rushes against bigger lineman. He was in the offensive backfield constantly collecting sacks and tackles for loss. During his senior year Granger HS made it to the semifinals of the Utah Football State Championships, but came up short in an overtime loss. Quaid recieved offers from Utah, BYU, Nevada, and Utah State. He ultimately decided to sign a full ride scholarship with the Utah State Aggies.

College career

As a true freshman Quaid played in a reserve role on defense for the Aggies serving as their 4th LB. He made his mark as a special teams ace as a gunner on kickoffs and as a blocker on returns. Quaid started two games as a freshman filling in for injured teammates. He was named as the Aggies "Special Teams MVP". Quaid was named as a full time starter his sophomore season after the Aggies lost two of their starting linebackers to graduation. He settled in as a pass rusher from the outside linebacker spot. His breakout game that really endeared him to the fans was a two sack and forced fumble performace against BYU. He decided to return for his senior season and improve his draft stock. It proved to be a great decision as he finished top five in the nation in total sacks and was a finalist for the Butkus Award, which is given to the best LB in the nation. Most draft analysts project Quaid to be a 1st or 2nd round pick in the DSFL draft.
