Doc Holliday (born May 4, 2023) is an American football tight end who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Doc Holliday was born in Wahoo, Nebraska to Jessie and James Holliday. He grew up on the family farm which was nicknamed, "The Holliday Homestead". From an early age, Holliday assisted his father and three older brothers with the daily duties around the farm. He was no stranger to hard work; each day was long and exhausting, but it made him grow strong and resilient. At a young age, Holliday and his brothers would throw around an old football that their father had kept from his short time as a kicker in college. This is how they spent most of their free time. Holliday and his brothers were highly competitive, and were always trying to one-up each other. This competition is what eventually led Holliday to get involved in organized sports.

Holliday was home-schooled up until high school where he attended Wahoo High. This was his first opportunity to become a member of a sports team, and so he tried out for the varsity football team his freshman year, but was placed on the junior varsity instead, where he played running back. However, this didn't last long, because before the end of his first season, Holliday experienced a large growth spurt. He was at least a head taller than both his teammates and the competition, and as a result he was unmatched. This drew the attention of the Varsity football coach, who called Doc up to finish out the season with the varsity team as a freshman. Because of his size and speed, his coach moved him from running back to tight end, and it was at this position that Holliday truly stood out.

After dominating his first full season on the varsity team as a sophomore, Holliday was eventually named team captain. He led his team to a state title his junior season, and then to a national title his senior season. His performances and accomplishments nabbed the attention of dozens of scouts for big-name colleges. Wanting to stay close to home, he accepted a scholarship at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL).

College career

Doc Holliday played for the UNL Cornhuskers from 2042 - 2044. As a freshman, Holliday was the backup tight end for the first 5 games of the season, but saw no snaps. However, it wasn't long before he beat out the competition for the starting job. He then started the remaining 8 games of his freshman season, putting up a decent total of 16 receptions for 168 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Holliday came into his Sophomore season guns blazing. In the second game of the season, Holliday tied a school record of 3 touchdowns in one game: the most by any tight end in Cornhusker's history. He kept that momentum throughout the remainder of his sophomore season, and finished with 33 receptions for 341 yards and 8 touchdowns, more than doubling his stats from the previous year, despite only playing 5 more games in total.

In Holliday's Junior (and final) year as a Cornhusker, he put up his best performance yet. He broke multiple school records for both receptions and yards receiving by a tight end, accruing 47 receptions and 518 yards, respectively. He also set the league record for touchdowns by a tight end in a single season with 14. It would be after this season's performance that Holliday would declare for the upcoming DSFL draft.
